I was just wondering how many of you guys train with partners. I've heard that you see better results when working out in pairs and I'd like to but I'm the only one in my gang that is a member at the gym.

I tried working out with a partner but that didn't work out at all. My workout took over six hours to do because my partner kept getting distracted by the girls about. I find training partners annoying but at time it is helpful to have a spotter at hand.

I train solo. There have been a couple of people who tried training with me, but they lasted about a month each. I prefer to train alone. The few times I need a spot I can usually get one.

Before my 7 year hiatis I trained with 2 partners, now I run solo. It works better for my schedule and has been much more effective for me.

solo.
never found anyone hardcore enough for me yet! :lifter: serious, had a few friends tag along for a few days but they always seemed to disappear.. either I wasnt working hard enough for them or they couldnt take it!
Ive trained with a couple older guys before, those were awesome workouts..but nothing on a scheduled workout plan together. 99% of the time Im alone.

I train with my Craigie pooh.

I live in Military quarters so all serious lifters are all pretty good buddies. so when im lifting i always have a spot plus i see progress other poeple are making and what they are doing.

Occasionally a train with a friend or two of mine, but most of the time I'm solo.

That sounds like a challenge to me. :D

Same here, Jen. Deadlifts and low box squats have a way of scaring most people off.

A good training partner is hard to find. When I lived in Ohio, I had a WO partner for a couple of years. We tended to motivate one another, and that helped to push thru plateaus.

Here in Jersey, I strictly train solo, which is ok, but I do miss having a dedicated partner.

Ive done it both ways over the years. I've since concluded that I prefer to train alone.

Aw shucks Fire. I was hoping you were going to ask me to drive to Princeton everyday to train in your home gym. Drat!

Well Devil you know what your doing so you would be acceptable. Come on down bro but not Princeton, that is where I work. You need to come to Hamilton Twp. subberbs of Trenton

I'm in West Deptford Twp, close to Woodbury, about an hour south on 295. I'm afraid you would show me up. I mean, I'm no match for anyone named after a power tool.

im small so i get alot of motivation when with someone bigger than me. i am real competative by nature so i hate being shown up. ive found that i have always cheated myself when alone in the past. ive had a few years off and am about to start again but this time i dont have anyone to motivate me so hopefully ill be more motivated and true to myself this go around

hahaha yea right you would hold your own Im sure.

I have two groups of poeple that I could train with, ones that are way to weak to keep up with me (those are also the ones who have no interest in working out) or people that make me look like a dwarf and try to convince me to juice up. I prefer to work out alone but have no problems with helping people out that are just starting out. Possible with my girlfriend but ats for other reasons.

I think a partner would be good the right one ofcourse, but all my friends are lazy bastards, they might get in to it a week or two tops but they dont last much longer sao I'm solo...

Most of my friends are very crappy training partners. I've had a few consistent training partners in the past, which was kind of good and kind of bad. It was okay for back then when i didn't know shit and didn't train efficiently, but right now i doubt i could find a suitable training partner except for a few people at the place where i work. P-funk was an awesome partner to have when we used to be fairly close in terms of strength. Now he is so much stronger than me that it would be too much of a pain in the ass to always change weight.

When i train at home im solo, but every week at some point i workout after school at my highscool weight room
there are usually several guys in there that will spot
but i have 2 friends in particular i always workout with
They are very dedicated too so its nice
and we share supps and stuff lol

Only time I have someone to spot is when I make a foolish attemp in draging a friend along, trying to get them to work out more.

I train with a partner. As long as our scheduals workout right and he dose what I tell him it works out great :whip:
I got to have my forced reps.
