 been lifting years but coudn't achieve the horseshoe my routine looks are shullcruscher, closegripbench press, dumbell tricep extention.

Well, since your tricep's job is to extend the arm, and it's flexed there, you really aren't helping the analysis at this point.

was this thread serious, i'd hope not. someone needs to go to posing school :clapping:

I posted a similar thread a couple of months ago. I was told close grip bench press and skull crushers were good exercises, but it was also very dependant on diet and if your "big" enough to have them show.

It's all about bf and how BIG your muscles are. Same story as abs.

You could get a ringer with those tri's

Im working on one!! To me, this was(is) one of the hardest things to acheive!!
I barely have what could be considered the beginning of a horseshoe!!lol

Like anything else, Work hard at building the muscle and lean down to make it stand out!

Nice job. Another key to the tri's is working the "inner" part enough. For me the excercise that REALLY tears up the tri's is skullcrushers...not your ordinary skullcrushers either. Like this: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/CBLyingTriExt.html
I make sure that I lift my head off of the bench and extend the bar behind my head...just like with other muscles you want to get the full range of motion to work them properly. I have seen alot of guys do skullcrushers and just bring the bar to their forehead and back up (like most people do), and it IS easier that way too but if you really want to fully develop your tri's you HAVE to work them in thier full range of motion. As for the pic that pampotch posted....dont know what to say about that. Is that an elbow we are looking at? I will have to say though that some DO have the horseshoe even with the arm bent/flexed like that...that takes some work though.

thanks maybe i have to stick with skullcruscher, close grip bench and dumbell extention for several months and try to see if it works

how often do you guys shift routines?
once every couple of months

I shift around alot with triceps. One week I will do closegrip with a barbell and the next I will use the easycurl bar in between sets of skullcrushers. Tricep pushdowns I vary it between the rope to the v-bar to the straightbar. Same basic excercises but little variances in grip and angles.

you got a long way to go, just keep lifting hard and eating clean and you'll get there eventually. good luck!

well i hope these 2 pics are better?

Just curious, how old are you?

I change up all my routines all the time. I belong to Golds, and it would be too time consuming to wait for all the equipment just to keep my routine @ the same order,etc... Tri exercises that I really like: Weighted Bench Dips; Reverse Grip Cable Push Downs, French DB XT, als DB Skull Crushers (forced reps w/free hand) lately...

yeah that sucks when the machines you want to use are taken!

are you flexing? whats your bf%?

Arm flexion doesn't involve the triceps.

Mass (diet + training) + Definition (diet)
