STB, does it help alot to reverse your grip on the close grip BP?
Yup, with your palms up, your elbows will stay by your side so it hits your tri's that much better.
Same goes for other tri work, use a reverse grip and you'll notice a big difference. :thumb:

I use to do them but there always seemed to be so many other better movements so I haven't done them in a couple years.
Maybe I'll have to through them in one day. :)

It can't hurt, gotta keep the body off balance.

There is no exercise that "defines" a muscle, definition comes from proper diet.

Makes sense, but don't kickback have a different effect on the tri's than say heavy weighted bench dips ??

I get where your coming from TJohn, I've heard of Kickbacks and Concentration curls being more of a finishing movement for people that already have alot of size and are a waist of time for someone that needs to put on some mass.

i love cable push downs! either single or bar. keep yer elbow down and arm straight, and flex the tri at the bottom!.......get a slow neg up.

Well, I would not consider kickbacks to be a "mass builder". I do them every few work-outs for the burn and variation.

Agreed. And I do realize that cutting is the only way to be ripped. I just always thought that there were exercises like kickbacks for tri's and leg extensions for quads for example to bring out definition. Hey I'm from the old school cut me some slack :D

People like to say things like that, especially with leg extensions. I have some pretty decent quads, and I have always used leg extensions, sometimes I even go heavy on them.

Yes, you most definitely have.... pretty decent.... quads !! Have you ever tried strip sets on the leg extension machine (starting heavy of course) with no rest after switching weight in the set (like 150/125/95/65 for example) ?? Killer pain !!
