Ugh... i obliterated my calves

This past monday i really blasted my calves, and as of today (thursday) they're still sore as hell.

As calves are supposedly one of the fastest recovering muscle groups, i was a bit concerned. It's not that "beginner's soreness" either, as i typically work calves 2x a week with a 2-3 sets to failure. Is there something in my diet that might have slowed down recovery time (dont think i changed anything)? Or could this just be that i was feeling especially masochistic on monday? :/

Either way - should i wait untill they're no longer sore before training them again?

What about if they get indirectly worked?

Yesterday was my leg day, which i put off until today because they were so sore... theyre still sore today. I wouldnt mind going again today, but im worried i might hurt the recovery process.

hacks and curls really pound my calves :/
 
sometimes when I do my calves, they remain sore for an entire week. just let 'em rest until they don't hurt anymore.
