Just wondering what you guys up in your diet when you are trying to cut but get hungry? I've made some good progress but I think I've hit a wall. My diet consists of skinless chicken breasts, salmon and shrimp mostly and I have each meal with zuccinni or mushrooms. Over the last year or so I've gradually cut my portions to reduce calories to about 1500-1600 a day. I get just over a gram of protein per pound of weight and half of that for fat. Carbs are pretty low, around 50-75 a day. I haven't done a body fat calculation with calipers for awhile, but I'd guess I'm somewhere between 10 and 12%. Trying to get a little more defined but having trouble cutting my food intake lately. Wondering if I should just increase the zuccinni and mushrooms to "fill" myself up at the end of the night, since they are low in calories.

If you really want to decrease hunger, drop your carbs even lower. Depending on your diet, an increase in (good) fat can also be more satiating.

I'll go with this ^^

But also, Veggies (most) are so low in carbs that you can in fact eat a shit load of carrots, broccoli, etc and the carbs are minimal.
I don't usually count veggies in my totals anyway since they're mostly dietary fiber.

Isn't it not good to get more fat than half your body weight though? Wouldn't it just turn into more body fat?

Eating fat isn't what makes you fat. Excessive calories make you fat.
If you eat excessive calories, you will gain weight in the form of fat but Carbs are more notorious than fat for quickly adding fat stores to the body.

Ahh. But there must be a reason people here say to get half your weight in fat grams, right? I believe it's because if you get too little fat, your body will store more fat because it's deprived. I would assume too much fat would be bad too.

BTW, I get most of my fat from nuts.

Your macro totals are based on your goals at any given time.
Sometimes your fat totals will be 15% of your diet, other goals require higher. I've never used 50% or more for total fat. The most I've used was 30-35%. There could be diet plans that require that much of your caloric total coming from fat but I'm not aware of any.
Someone with more knowledge can chime in here. DaMayor, Built, etc.
