Everyday around 10:00-10:30 when I am regularly training I have an overwhelming need to get in the gym and work my ass off. People can't figure out why I lift so much on vacation. I never have better workouts then hitting breakfast, chilling for 45 minutes or so and then hitting the gym around 10:00. What sucks is that while in my normal routine I can't lift until 7 or 8 pm. and I'm beat ass tired. I've tried to get up early but it takes too long to get my blood flowing to have a good workout.

I guess the pointless question of the day is...Do you all have a time that your body is just primed to go?

I'm writing this now because it's 10:15 and I feel like I could run through a wall.

Doing anything at a regular time is beneficial. The body somehow "remembers" that it's time to do a certain activity, whether that activity is eating, sleeping, working out, or something else. Just train your body to workout at your new time.

Each body also has it's own natural ebb and flow. It may be that your body is in a naturally energized state about 10AM. I'm not sure if you can affect this natural process, but you could simply try to standardize your day; When you eat, workout, and go to sleep. This may give you more energy...or it may not. What do you want? I'm not a physician. :)

best time to train?

I feel the same as you.

I read somewhere that test levels peak mid morning. Plus you are rested and not mentally drained.

I work construction and am usually pretty wore out by days end.
My workouts don't get 100% effort in the p.m. like I would prefer as compared to when I'm off and can do it in the a.m..WAAAY more intensity!

I always feel more energized about 10 a.m. whether at work or not.
Also solid dose of long chain carbs first thing is also a benefit.

Working is a bitch but I hate being poor more. I guess it's a matter of priority. I guess we do what is necessary first. Like, how else do you pay to eat clean and buy supplements, gym dues, etc?, unless your Paris Hilton or Brad Pitt.

Sounds like a good topic for a pole. What is more important?....

Do you work to live?,
or do you live to work? :hmmm:

That test peak comment makes a lot of sense. It isn't such a feeling like I need to bust my ass, it's more a feeling like I need to fuck something up. Pushing heavy weights around takes care of the need.

If mid-morning doesn't work with your work or school schedule, try first thing in the morning. Like you, it's hard to get my body warmed up that early. But what I do is 5-10 minutes of cardio warm-up before hitting the weights, then I'm good to go. Also, after doing this regularly for a week or two, your body will adjust and prep itself.
