Does anybody have any opinion on whether or not HIIT, which has been scientifically demonstrated to raise metabolism for the duration of the day, as well as burning calories at a much higher rate due to VO2 levels, can be used in any part to allow one to have a less than stellar diet?

Understandably for competition purposes one really cannot cheat and hope to compete, but for those who like to go out and party and/or enjoy eating lots of or less than perfect foods, and can take the hell on earth that is interval training, will this in any small measure be effective?

maybe, depends if you take in more calories that you burn in a day. its as simple as that...

HIIT or any other type of training will help you burn more calories throughout the day so don't get too caught up in the idea that HIIT is some magic thing. Best is to have a good diet and good training program and to be consistent.
