V shape work out

It was a rhetorical question, bozo.

It was a typical Chicken Brained response (just giving you some your own), and if you want to resort to name calling.....Chicken Shit....we are going to "Foul" the boards! :D

Exactly like that.

You think I actually workout?

best as in what? :)

I know this is a rhetorical question, but I still must answer to it...best as in the thickest widest lats you can build within your genetic capabilities.

Please don't reply...thanks.

Can't resist, sorry.

Just curious for your reasoning, but why would you need to vary grip width at all to build the widest and thickest? (not taking into consideration any other possible changes like rep range, rep tempo, forced reps, nagatives etc...)

Basically, i'm asking, why does one grip alone not build the widest adn thickest lats?

Probably for the same reason you would not want to do just flat bench for chest development. :)

nah, nah, nah. The reason the chest "discussion" is so frequent is cause the chest is visibly sectioned off into two portions.

The lats, on the other hand, aren't.

I'd just like to hear why different grips are necessary.

Different grips will create different angles of pull. Different angles of pull will recruit different motor unit pools.

Don't you feel the differnce between a close grip pulldown and a wide grip...an underhand chin and an overhand chin...a reverse grip bent row and a regular grip????

Well, I certainly do. The back is such a group of complex muscles and probably requires THE MOST variation in training grips and angles.

Ahhh....but you said "best as in the thickest widest lats you can build within your genetic capabilities."

The lats are one muscle.

If we're talking about the back muscles collectively then maybe different grips would be beneficial.

Yeah, i do actually. I feel close grips more in my back. Wide grips just make my biceps fail early.

What I said goes for any and all muscle group or groups. So, yes, for the widest and thickest LATS possible, variation in grips and angles are needed.

I love both wide grip and close grip pulldowns, t-bar rows, bent rows, pully rows, and even deadlifts and shrugs!
