I thought it was evident from the post that I have a problem with her minimizing the crime. I don't expect her to be happy about it, but saying "he is going to jail, and for what?!?" is fucked up and only goes to show how he could easily turn out like this.

Something along the lines of "My son has made a mistake but I will always love him" would have been appropriate.

I understood you, not that I'm happy about it. ;)

Im probably gonna get flamed... but...

I think this case is gone way overboard.

What Vick did was wrong, no argument. It was terrible and vile.

However, in perspective, how many players YEARLY get DUI's that could potentially kill PEOPLE and not animals, yet get nothing more than a couple thousand dollar fines? Why arent they suspended from the game ?

In all reality, dogs are just dogs. Animals. They have the right to be treated respectfully, but IMO there are much worse crimes happening all the time that go un-noticed.

DUI's are 10 times more problematic with 20 times the reprecussions and yet, nobody says anything.

But fighting animals will get you a life suspension, and 3-5 in prison.

Brilliant.

DUIs don't kill people. As a matter of fact, DUIs don't even hurt people. Manslaughter, on the other hand, is after you actually kill someone with a car while being over the BA limit.

So lets put this in perspective. DUIs hurt no one. Fighting dogs kills dogs every fight, plus it shows someone purposely killing animals in one of the cruelest ways. This happens every fight.

Also, I don't buy into the whole humans are so much better than animals bullshit. My cats are more valuable to me than any of you. Sorry, thats just how it is.

So, basically I disagree with you on every level of your post. I'm not trying to start shit either, just throwing my opinion out there.

Isn't that the Sheriff who makes the inmates wear pink and live outside in tents? It'd be cool to see DMX in the ultra cool rapper pink and living outside in the cruel heat....

This dog fighting shit is too much, I see guys with mean looking Pitbull shirts and Tattoos all over this Island. Almost every dog at the Humane Society is a Pit bull or mixed Pit because some owner just released their "non winning" dog and it knocked up someone else's.....everyone of these people are the pure scum of the Islands, if they aren't fighting dogs or smoking ice then they are probably at a cockfight or breaking into tourists rental cars....I swear if I ever found out someone was abusing a dog like that I'd go Hannibal Lecter on their ass....

i see your point with the dui sorta but it's like saying shooting a gun off wherever you want with no concern for the people around is ok.... until you hit someone. drunk drivers play russian roulette with the lives of other people. not ok any way you look at it.

I'm saying the punishment should fit the crime, and "you could've, but didn't" just isn't that bad. That is what DUIs are all about, you could have hurt someone, but you didn't. That is why DUI offenders aren't treated like cold blooded dog murderers.

IMO, what he did was worse than your run-of-the-mill DUI. Drunk driving, you have no malice in your heart. Yes it is irresponsible, dangerous, criminal, and you deserve to go to jail.

If he attended one dog fight, that would be different. He personally sponsored, promoted, and facilitated a torture ring from 2001 to 2007. He had "rape stands" in his house, and literally tortured dogs to death with his bare hands. If you want to execute a dog, and you can't take it to a shelter, put it in a car with an exhaust hose run into the window. Even a 12 gauge to the back of the head would be more humane than drowning, hanging, and beating.

What he did is more analogous to a repeat DUI offender, getting your child to blow in the tube to start your car, and then driving without putting them in the child seat.

I couldn't agree more.

I couldn't agree more.

The same for me.

Malicious, wretched, etc.

Violence against non-threatening non-food source animals is one of the most horrendous crimes (not directly against humanity) that I can imagine.

The punishment should fit the crime. They need to round up the dogs he used to fight with, and then put him in the ring with them.

Justice and a meal all in one fell swoop.

And for DUI's put them in a bus with a drunk blind man at the wheel while driving on the Death Road in Bolivia....

I found Jesus: Vick

Wait a second, release him, forgive him....he has now found Jesus.

I don't want to sound harsh but why do celebraties think they can get away with crap then all of the sudden think they can get a "get out of jail card" with saying they found Jesus.

"Through this situation, I found Jesus and asked him for forgiveness and turned my life over to God," said Vick, 27. "I think that's the right thing."

I'm sorry if I offend my fellow Black buddies but they always pull this crap.

he jacked a rich white guys car

Pretty much everyone who goes to jail finds Jesus. What I want to know is, what the hell is Jesus doing in jail?
Lol ... what do think a long haired white pacifist is doing in jail? Entertainment

You clipped off the end of the quote. "I think that's the right thing to do FOR NOW."

Yeah, when I get out of jail and try to get my career back if Jesus doesn't help me he can kiss my ass.

I can understand a simple one time mistake, but he's been doing this for a while and yet he felt in his heart it was OK?

He is a lier, a fake, and a piece of shit human being. Saying he found god is just what you say when you get arrested. IT doesn't cost you anything to say it. I don't care if he found Jesus, Allah, Budda, or who the fuck ever. He is a plague among humanity, he obviously has no feelings for anyone other than himself. He is a typical selfish fuck, and I hope he gets aids in prison from being raped in the ass for what he did.

Ya' know, if you'd quit sugar coating it we'd be able to tell how you REALLY feel.;)

:roflmao:
Vent of the week.

His mindset is not the same as that of other people. He just sees them as animals bred for a purpose same as chickens on a chicken farm. People who love dogs are mostly the people in the outraged hang the prick group.

I love dogs and all animals in general but I'm more in favor of following the system then getting bent up over this one issue. We don't throw the book at first time offenders on minor violations and since this is his first criminal charge as an adult he deserves the same thing you or I would get as first time offenders.

If he had been busted for child molestation then fuck yeah hang him by his balls and set his head on fire.

Face it folks. He's not a child molester and he's not cooking up crack, slaughtering people, or any of a million serious crimes. It's dog fighting. Inhumane? Yup. Equal to plundering the 401k of ENRON employees? Not even a distant 100th place runner up. In some states it's even classified as a misdemeanor. He doesn't deserve to be maxed out on this, and he deserves to get his job back when he's done paying his dues.

Then again, it's one thing to get caught for GTA or for marijuana possession, but it's a completely different story when the crime involves torturing and killing living creatures.

Every time that a guy gets caught for dog or cock fighting on Animal Planet Cops, the narrator always mentions that the offender is very likely to get jail time and a big fine. Why should Vic be any different? Especially when you consider the longevity of his dog fighting career.

Vic is no different. That's my point. He should be treated just the same as you or I would be. Neither you nor I would get maxed out on this. A little jail time and a fine is good. He earned it. The hang'em high crowd is pushing for maxed out sentences on all charges and that is just not in line with what you or I would get.

I believe that treating domesticated animals this way is one step away from treating humans this way, so if he is capable of torturing and killing dogs I don't think it would be too difficult for him to do the same to a human.

Funny how he was innocent until backed into a corner with his buddies turning on him, now suddenly he is sorry, found Jesus, etc. However, not once in his public apology did he say a thing about the animals that were tortured and killed. It was all a crock of shit, he had no other options and his lawyers probably wrote that entire speech he gave.

I think he should get 1 year in prison, expelled from the NFL permanently, a nice sized fine that will be donated to the humane society (and this fine should be relative, meaning if the normal person would get a $1,000 fine Vick should get a $1 million dollar fine). Once out of prison he should be on 12 months of probation and required to serve around 300 hours of community service working at a local animal shelter. And of course be required to pay back whatever he owes to his team since he cannot fulfill his contract. Lastly, required to complete around 6 months of counseling specifically addressing his desire to torture and kill animals.

Why should he lose his livelihood? I like the rest of it, but why lose his job?

My understanding is that there is a clause in his contract that prevents him from being fired for an offense such as this.

Keep in mind that what I said is hearsay, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.
