Right now, with being at work and a full time student. Sometimes I just have to eat fast food lol. But I try and get hte best stuff. My question is, cutting out mot of my fast food and cokes. and Running 1 mile a day, as well as weight training, would I see semi-noticeable results in a month? or even a few weeks? Granted, my diet would be as Hardcore as some of yall. But for the msot part, I am switching to whole grains and egg whites, and lil protien bars for those lil snakcs between classes. Any opinions are welcome :)

Currently 6'3 260. Lots of musle, but still alot fat haha :P

I think if you are serious about cutting, you need to be serious about diet and sort of watching it just isn't going to cut it.

well im not looking to get cut or anything like that, just looking to lose a lil weight. So those of you who acutally want to answer then please do but, if not, stay out of the topic.

Cutting = losing weight...

I work 2 hours a day and have class from 11-2.45 M-Th. What I do is make myself 2 sandwhiches, with toast, margarine and turkey/chicken breast and eat that between classes. Ill also take an apple/banana/carrots with me. You shouldnt eat any fried food, and stuff like that. If you want to see some results, cut out all sodas and replace it with water.

Diet does have to be pretty strict if you want to see results. You can "optimally" lose 8 pounds of FAT (2 per week) in a month, anymore than that and youre not just losing fat but lean body mass. Etc, etc..

Theres lots of info on the site, but if you want to see some REAL results, its going to take a stricter diet, and you will have to change some things, and set your priorities. I work and am a full time student, but I realize that I want to look better, so I try as hard as I can to accomplish that by making sure I eat right, I eat atleast 5 meals a day, etc.

You defenitely need to figure out how much youre eating now (in calories) and cut that a little bit to have your calorie decifiency (burning more than you take in). If youre going to eat fast food, look at the nutrition guides online and see what suits your intake needs. Get stuff like chicken sandwhiches, mashed potatoes, potatoes (not fries).

Right on, th alot, Well I was on a prettty strict diet a few months ago. But I got injured pretty bad and was down for hte count for a long time. So getting back into what I was doing is turning out to be a challenge. Mostly ill be eating chicken breat sandwhich and soem egg whites for lunch and wat not, and oats and eggs for breakfast. Im sure some days Ill just have some cheerios or something. And just snacks in between. Good snacks haha, not chips or anything like that. I could prolly eat 5 times a day, Im just so used to having 3 pretty big sized meals, its gunna be wierd going from that to 5 small a day. My main problem is really veggies. I just honestly do no like them. I think they taste horrible lol. I guess we all ahvae something we dont like food wise. I figure if i stay with a good diet, and a good amount of protiens/carbs/fat and workout every day (if I can) Ill be happy with the results. I was 300, thne worked down to 260, thne to 230...got hurt and now im back to 255. So Yea haha. If its not one thing its another Ill tell ya lol. Working out and Carido arent a problem, its my diet. Which I think is alot o other people probems as well lol. With being such a picky eater. Having the same ole all the time is annoying. But ima start trying some new things, incorprate some new stuff into the diet see how I like it.

Should all my meals be about hte same? Or should my 3 MAIN one be a lil bigger then my other 2. And for just a snakc would a protien bar be alirght..or do I need more. Like fruits and stuff as well. Dieting has never been my forte so Im asking anything and everything haha. WOW I mreading wat i said up there and I jsut ramble on and on lol. Thx again for the reply.

That is the problem in America. Most Americans think they should have Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They stuff themselves until they cant eat anymore. Your body cant digest all that food at one time, hence you need to have 4-6 even meals during the day, which should be 2.5-3 hours apart. There are no "3 main meals." I myself have 400-500 calorie meals 5 times a day. It does take some getting used to eating 5 smaller instead of 3 big meals, but that is a major thing if you want to lose weight, and overall be healthy. Your metabolism keeps working if you feed it regularly. You dont really ever want to eat to the point where you are so full, you need to open your pant button, or that you feel your stomach is going to burst. You want to eat to be satisfied/not hungry, but you dont want to eat to be full.

I usually dont count fruit as a calorie source, or else ill just estimate 40-50 calories or something per fruit. If you are eating 4-6 meals, 2.5-3 hours apart from each other, you shouldnt really have the need to snack on anything. If I get hungry, and its been like 2-3 hours between my last meal, ill just have another meal, instead of eating a snack. You should eat fruits though, for the vitamins and such.

Yea i kno what you mean haha, I come from a natrually big family. Cooking was our thing, my mom acn coo kreal good haha. But I was test a year ago for food allergies. And as it turns out, Im allergic to all fruit but Strawberries and Grapes. And!!! Get this! Gulcose. So I start a gulcose free diet. Yea, tell me about it. So eating right has always been a problem for me. least the fruit part lol. Would taking vitimians be a good supplement for not eating fruits/veggies?

Im sure i can eat 5 meals a day, might take some getting used to but hell if yall can do it I can lol. But now that I read wat you said, I can look back and actually see wat I have eaten in the past and its like wow!! wtf wa I thinking. But when I was younger..blah blah I ate ALOT, sometimes to the point of throwing up. Not like that anymore but yea, I used to eat like a meal from wendys plus nuggets, or plus another chicken sandwhich. Im confident in doin this, as long as I can keep myself educuated on it.

If your just looking to lose weight, cleaning up your diet could do alot. Cut out fast foods and cokes COMPLETELY. Dont worry about "cutting" or anything like that. I think alot of people on here get confused about that. Cutting is more for bodybuilders trying to "cut" as much bodyfat as possible before a show. For people just trying to be "healthy" and lose weight, you dont have to be so strict. Follow a healthy diet, exercise portion control, and dont worry about 6 meals a day. thats a good thing to do, but its not going to make a big difference. The main thing is that you never stuff your face in one sitting. Have a good healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner, and get in some good healthy snacks throughout the day to keep your metabolism going.

Are you working out with consistency and hard? Thats a big help in weight loss.

A good baseline diet would be to have plenty of healthy high fiber whole grain carb sources, lean meat sources, plenty of fruits and vegetables, and healthy balanced meals. no cokes, no sweets, and no fast food.

I lost about 20-30lbs and dropped 5% bf by just applying those principles, eating every few hours, and working out. I never counted cals.

You know what is junk food and what is not, everyone does. Keep motivated and good luck.

and yea I stick with a Godo workout program. I used to work out alone but now I go with a friend everynight. We spot each other and I find it to be alot more modavating to workout with a friend. But thats just me, plus its more fun. Jog everyday, I cant run for very long right now. My carido isnt up to that point yet but I kn othat takes time. But thx again for the reply. Ill keep yall posted on results.
