This topic is discussed quite often, and casein (slow digestive proteins) are always ideal. Have some protein rich food before bed to keep feeding your body.
How come the small meal? Watching the weight? Or just not a big appetite? In either case, a casein shake could do you well. They are fairly inexpensive, and have the same protein contained in cottage cheese (minus the taste, of course).
