I wasn't talking about sports at all. I'm talking about getting stronger in the lifts that matter and isolation work is not necessary. You misunderstood what I said and in doing so posted something that was too general, which was a mistake. I now know what you were trying to say, but you said something different in the first place and insisted that 'daddy' was correct. Please don't be another ignorant adult who thinks he's right just because he's older. There's far too many of them as it is, and it's just another pain I have to deal with.bkc said:Your deadlifts went up because you practiced deadlifts... Did you curls go up 50lbs. too? (ie you need to train biceps if you want to have the strongest biceps you could possibly have!) Oh that's right you wouldn't know... No they didn't. Did they get stronger? Yep... But not as much as if you'd trained them as well.
If you play sports at all you'd know strong biceps help a hell of a lot! Tackling, stripping the football, grabbing a rebound, hitting a baseball, etc... It plays a big role! More than you realize... For example: I may be the best HR hitter in softball in the state I live in. I stopped training my smaller muscle groups do to time. The result? Less distance on my HR's...Starting training my entire body again. The result? The man is back...

It can be worked yes but NOT AS WELL! in most cases. Quads you're right... Hams you're wrong... Calves? Do I need to even say it? You must work your calves directly if you want big strong calves...![]()
Now you're showing your age by trying to put words in daddys mouth...![]()

Work hard man and everyone will have their own opinion. What works best for me may be different than for you... Just another lesson for the day. PM me if you want to learn anything tomorrow...![]()

Be careful about what you say. He may try to 'out-curl' you.TheCurse said:how about some pics of the massive biceps we been hearing about.
Actually I understood what I was saying from the beginning and I'm glad you caught on...Squaggleboggin said:I wasn't talking about sports at all. Today I only have 18 1/2 arms, 52 inch chest, 30 inch legs(very rarely training since 17 but my best bodypart when I do...), and a 35 inch waist. I'm far off from where I should be but such is life sometimes.TheCurse said:how about some pics of the massive biceps we been hearing about.
I also have more body fat than you do. If I was as cut as you are my measurements would be less. But with muscle memory and genetics 20's could take about a year for me.TheCurse said:great numbers. but then again people make all sorts of outlandish claims around here. again, wheres the beef?
Sure thing. But you'll see I was always right!TheCurse said:alright man, thats cool. until then lets just keep having civil arguements![]()
