Hey guys!

We are running a webdevelopment company and have been wanting to do something for the bodybuilding community for a long time. We finally started and have this idea for an app! I've talked to a lot of people who use either pen and paper or excel to record the workouts! We wanted to create a easy and smart way for hardcore bodybuilders to store all there data, as well as getting a motivational boost from it!

We would appreciate your opinions and feeback, since i'um under the impression that iron mag is tilted towards more hardcore users! ;). We also want your suggestions for what you would like us to add to make the site better and more to your liking!

So here is our idea so far,
Check it out at: Workout Manager - The Hardcode Workout Log

Pour it on! :D

I've always like pen and paper.

I could see this being useful -- especially for mobile device users.

there is already software like this out there

I've always used my brain. When I go into the gym, I am prepared enough to know what I am going to do, how long I am going to do it and what I did last time. Never saw the need to bring a notebook with me or a cell phone. In fact I always leave my phone in the car, because it is only a distraction from my training.

In my past I must have done "things" too much/often, so that my short-term memory isn't that strong, I need pen and paper, but do agree w/cell phone (unless the wife is traveling)

This. I shake my head at people walking around with their phone whilst "training". I once heard a bloke ordering a pizza between sets. No shit.

I think using a notebook is all good if it helps you out. Personally I write everything down. I have a format that looks like this Ex. 8/100/9/1,5 . 8=reps, 100=weight, 9=intensity (9 means you can do a couple more, 9,5 means you had possibly 1 more left and 10 being you had nothing left) and 1,5=minutes of rest between sets.

I then plan the next workout with the intensity numbers as a guide i see where there is room for adding weight/reps.

It all depends on the person though, I like to keep track of pretty much every single thing I do when it comes to training just like i like to keep track of my finances.
