What hits your chest the hardest?

criticism is one think pal, but out and out telling a person what they are doing is wrong and treating them like a child? That is another thing all together. And WHERE EXACTLY did I call someone a name? I seem to be missing that. You ASSUME my ego is inflated. I take insult from the fact that a few people here feel I am wrong and have NOTHING to offer anyone. Let me tell you something :Just because YOU do not respond to this type of training and maybe you watch the clock in the gym does NOT mean that EVERYONE else in the free world or otherwise must do EXACTLY as you say. And threatening me? I think that is a far step over the bounds of good sense....more so than I have here.

I do not deserve the disrespect a few of you have offered, and the kindness I have received (AND returned) from the others is enough to tell me that there are good people that go to the gym and use their good sense not to judge and insult others by the way they train. That's not help, and that is NOT criticism:it's true ignorance.

Can't we all just get along? No need for this nonsense fighting. Back the the topic at hand.

Anyway, I find incline benchpress to hit my chest pretty hard. However, I think that is just because I wasn't working my upper chest in my previous workout routine.

Dumbell flys also hit up the chest nicely. I haven't been doing these for long either, but they certainly feel nice when I'm done with them.

Benchpress used to make my chest burn, but I have been doing it on and off for so long that it doesn't get too burned up anymore.

you posted 2 times to insult me? I've been lifting for 8 years, and I come from a powerlifting background. I worked hard and fervently to get where I am. If you think you have gotten under my skin or made me cry, wise up. Before you attack someone, learn about them. After all,if you are to make me your enemy or whatever, follow the ancient rule please? "Know thy enemy."

I still fell that good old heavy bench pressing pumps my chest up like nothin' else.

Dig CowPimp. I just tend to favor the DB variants....they feel a little better to me. But hey, thanks for the post!

P-Funk,thanks for the posts! I still use the flat bench too, just not near the way I did before!

:)

yeah, dumbells are great for getting that extra stretch at the bottom. I can get back below where I would normally be touching my chest with the dumbells.

:)

Cow...another way to hit the chest hard is to do flat db press super setted with flat flyes, talk about a killer burn. Another one I like to do is bench, db flat flyes, then another bench, db flat flyes followed by db bench press. It's a true killer! 2 sets and it's over with.

I like the DB's, but as P-funk knows, sometimes I have trouble when going heavy to get the weight in place on the inclines! :)

Oh man, that is no joke. I really messed my self up yesterday throwing back 100s. I kicked them off my knee and felt something tighten up right away. My arm was really sore. Didn't tear anyhting but just pinched somehting.

Evil Ed,

I will delete your last post and Quesitonguy's last post....fair?

lol threatening, verbal abuse,,,,,, ,hahahahahha, why dont u call the COPS

Rock, how you mean bro? The kickover or the first lift? I know that when I am coming up on my 6 rep sets,I can't always get them up for hte first rep...I have a spotter help me get themlined up for the first(not counting hte rep) then I'm good....just curious if I am alone in that boat :)

better idea Question Guy,if you are SOOOOOO bad, come here to PA and get me yourself! If not, shut up and piss off! There are OBVIOUSLY other people who are here to enjoy in some random BSing about their chest routines. I don't think anyone here wants the senseless drama you're bringing.

P-Funk more than fairt, sorry I missed your post the first time through. Lucky you didn't tear a bicep bro. Friend of mine was in the same boat, not so lucky and with less weight. Hope you have a speedy FULL recovery!

Hey guys,I have had something on my mind....Have ANY of you good people tried the new machines that simulate free weight flyes? I've HEARD about them....but not a lot. I am very curious about them....always hungry for new things...

Both! By the time I do the kickover and get the db's in place, the first lift and balancing is hard as hell! But like you once I get'em up once I'm fine. Unfortunately I don't have a spotter so I always have to be extra careful with that! Your not alone in that boat :)

Dumbell pullovers. I feel these work my chest the best, i also like feelling the strech I get from these. Hammer machines after im done using free wieghts. I like the decline and wide chest ones the best and 3 sets of pushups after my chest workout, i like the pump i get from them. Those are what hit my chest the hardest.

Peace

My chest is the hardest for me to build up.I also work chest by it self.I like weighted dipps along with under hand cable flys.I also concentrate on incline bp.

I don't have much experience with this lift myself, but decline bench presses are supposed to hit the chest pretty hard.

For me, its Decline Dumbbell Presses, using a steep angle.

Three sets of ten, using 110 pound per dumbbell, really catapulted my chest. :thumb:

i threw that into my workout today, seemd really hard on the shoulders, more than flat or incline

heavy benches 5-4-3-2-1 these are done with a pause
incline cable flys supersetted with weighted dips 3sets 10-12 reps these are done to failure.

thats it

I agree you are over training what does the rest of your weekly workout look like?

Brother Danzig, I like Danzig, excellent w/o music!!! Anyway I like to go the pre-exhaust route, I do either Pec-Dec or Low Pulley Cross-overs and then go Instantly into Incline BB Bench!!! That'll really HIT the chest good!!!

How much do u guys work out with on the bb?

I always used to hammer my chest with workouts that ran often in excess of 90 minutes. I'd bang out grinding hardcore rep after rep of HEAVY incline presses, flat presses, incline flyes, flat flyes with my legs on a bar and the upper portion of my torso hanging off the bench, and crossovers.

Until this past Monday.

I had 1 hour between my classes at the college,so I ran into their weight room for a quick chest assault.

In 35 minutes, I smashed through flat flyes, incline flyes, incline DB presses, pushups with my body angled(ankles propped on top of an incline bench), and pec deck flyes.

I was sore for 4 days.

Just curious as to what you guys all feel hits you hardest...
And if you guys challenge me to try your workouts,I am game! ;)

IMO the plate loaded Hammer Strength Dip machine is the single greatest chest exercise in the history of the world! And I never overstate anything...

incline db presses

I never really get a good chest pump from any kind of press, db flys really kill me though.
