Every time I do push ups or bench press the next day my shoulder hurts. I noticed in pictures taken of me my left shoulder is higher than my right. Even when I was younger it was like this. I feel that it is the one thing stopping me from getting the results I want. Its depressing actually. I went to the doctor because I thought it was a separated shoulder. He told me it was not separated, but rather a slight deformity. Then some guy showed me stretches I could do but I don't find that they are helping. Does anyone one have advice, or am I just not genetically built to build. Heres a picture of what I am talking about.

SORRY ....but the bad news is that you're normal....one side is dominant over the other.......smoke a fatty and stop looking in the mirror......:sorry:

Start fappin with the other hand... Just kidding... Or am I

Almost everyone is a little off center. You notice you cause you look at you every day. I have one nostril that is longer then the other one. I also had a busted lip and a broken nose from a little misunderstanding. I went to a plastic surgion to fix the lip and nose a little and I asked him about the nostrils...he honestly did not see it for a few minutes. He thought I was beening a little to critical. And I am. But every fu?kin time I look in the mirror I see it.

Honestly its not bad. Add some beef to your frame and it will hide it.

And if all else's fails smoke a fatty^^^

Check your form or go with slightly lower weight if it's hurting you that bad. Otherwise, take Charley's advice.

Did the doc do any x-rays? MRI? Anything other than just look at it and tell you it was a deformity. Question your Doctor and get a second opinion. A doc cant just look at you and tell you whats wrong my friend. It shouldnt be hurting you. My thoughts

My right shoulder is about 2-3 inches lower than my left, but the problem isn't the shoulder, it is my spine. Every joint in the body relates to every other joint, so if your doctor isn't looking at the whole picture, he may miss something very important.

Listen, my shoulder used to hurt too, but it wasn't because of my lower shoulder. It was because I didn't have my training program balanced, and my form was off. I'm not saying your posture isn't leading to problems, but there are many others potential factors to consider.

Also, if you take Charley's advise, make sure you hold the big fatty with hand that's NOT dominant. That way, the lifting on that side should even you out. You dig? Unfortunately, it looks to me like your left hand is longer than your right, even though your left shoulder is higher??? Weird.

Stop training in those shorts for one lol but seriously if your shoulder hurt only on chest day or when u bench it's your form. My shoulder is pretty much fucked but glucosamine has helped and so has stretching it before I lift.

My shoulders use to hurt too doing bench (long-ass monkey arms)...I found that, on my working sets, if I just bring the bar down far enough so my arms are 90 degrees, bar about 3-4 ins from my chest, I have less shoulder issues and recover a lot faster. And I do lots of stretching before and after. Try arching your back, butt on the bench, with your shoulders down and back....get your form perfect.

You could have a functionally or structurally long leg, causing a right scoliosis of the lumbar spine thus creating a compensatory lean to the opposite direction.

Yes you must have to check what is the issue. this does not seem to be issue of shoulder this is spine issue. Consult with your doctor for solution . how you can balance it. If not then how you can reduce your pain. Try to get comfort in weight and all that. Once this pain settle in your shoulder then you will be left for nothing.

Have you ever had any x-rays?
Do your shoulders "pop" when doing pushups, pullups or lifting?
I've broken my clavicle (collar bone) on the left side twice. When looking straight at me the drop on the left side is noticeable.
As already stated...2nd opinion.
This forum is no substitute for genuine medical advice from a licensed physician.

Also, its likely that your left trap is hypertonic, thus elevating your scapula, probably to compensate for a weak serratus and lower trapezius, and potentially rotator cuff.

I see this stuff all the time with my patients.

my right nutt is bigger than my left, my right ear 1/4 inch lower and until i switched to dumbells my right arm upper/lower was about an inch thicker than my left
