What kind of training protocol do you use when cutting?

Just curious. I used a highly bastardised version of the P/RR/S system (more volume, usually) for a bulk, and am gonna go on a mini-cut (6 weeks). Do I just keep going with the P/RR/S system?

Peace.

When I cut I keep most things the same...just add volume, decrease rest times, and throw in some drop sets. Still lift heavy...it doesn't have to be overly complicated:)

I would think that volume would need to be decreased if you stay with the same weightage, or weight decreased and volume increased to compensate for the fact that glycogen will typically be lower. I used to use the 5x5 powerlifting style protocol on my cuts, and that helped me maintain muscular thickness and strength.

I'm using the carb cycling diet this time, though, so I anticipate my glycogen and energy levels will remain at reasonable levels. I'm actually anticipating that I might gain some LBM this cut, too.

Peace.

With me, I stay heavy and go higher reps with less rest time. Seems to work well for me.

ditto...

* one thing to remember is to not to expect to always make your lifts when on a cut. some days you feel stong, others not. dropping those excess carbs can have a big impact on some core lifts. don't sweat it

Same here, I lift the same, obviously you will lose a little strength, and will add some cardio, but the actual weight training does not need to change.

Man that is the part I hate! Makes ya feel weak!

JLB - How do you manage this, "With me, I stay heavy and go higher reps with less rest time. Seems to work well for me." with some energy stores depleted?

I usually have good amounts of energy even while cutting. I am use to being on a lower carb diet.
