My knees "crack" a little too. What will help my joints?

glucosamine chondroiten(sp) with MSM. I use nature mades brand.

My wife has some in the pantry. It says "glucosamine sulfate" on the back. with MSM. Is that good? Or do I need a different kind?

no.. that shits terrible. It just adds fluid to the joint but doesn't do anything beneficial long term. Tests have proven that the fluid is a temporary fix and that once you get off the product you are back to normal. So it's a big waste of money.

Don't know what to suggest tho... but not glucosamine sulphate with condroitin.

For good joints you need lightweight papers, some good weed and some good chillout music. Yup, that'll do it. Nah, It isn't the most amazing supplementation, but my knees weren't enjoying heavy squatting so I used Cod Liver oil caps, 520mg ED, soon sorted them out.

I got a kinda rare type of arthritis - so I'm always fighting joint pain.

I take glucosamine/chondritin, a sulfur based drug (sulfasalizine), and flax oil specifically for the joints. Use those, Id bet money the pain will lessen.

It staves off the damage - there is no such thing as a permanent fix. Using glucosamine/chondritin is a good move, not something to dissuade. Definitely not a waste of money.

no, you want all three: Glucosamine / Chondroitin / MSM

Here's the deal the way I see it. At 45 years of age without Glucosamine / Chondroitin / MSM getting up from the floor after watching movies or playing X-Box with my son my joints are tender and noisy. With it they are not. I have a freedom of mobility without any issues because of Glucosamine / Chondroitin / MSM taken ED.

I am a very active person between lifting, paintball, hiking, and boxing and need the extra help.

Is Glucosamine / Chondroitin / MSM a waste of money? What are we talking here in costs? Pennies a day?

Try it you'll like it ...

Guys, I've been taking Glucosamine / Chondroitin for the last 3 months and it's greatly improved the pain in my knee. The pills don't have MSM though. What is this?

Its an anti inflamitory.

In addition to Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM you should also consider SAM-e, it's very effective and takes effect quickly.

Boring - but if youre interested - it kinda outlines what it does. I put it together from a few sites.

Methylsulphonylmethane

A biologically active form of organic sulfur found in all living organisms. It is naturally found in varying amounts in raw unprocessed milk, meat, fish, fruits and vegetables. MSM is a multiuse supplement that has been used by fitness enthusiasts.

Unknown to most of us, sulfur is one of the basic elements of life. In fact, sulfur is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body. The proper acid alkaline balance of the body cannot be maintained without it. MSM supplements can lower your pain levels by 50% or more, MSM supplements has the ability to reduce inflammation. Sulfur is vital to the creation and regeneration of the body's tissues. Sulfur is an indispensable component in human nutrition. MSM is found in every cell in the body. Sulfur itself is held mainly in the muscles, skin, bones, nails and hair. MSM dietary supplements provide the essential sulfur necessary for a number of body compounds. Veterinarians became interested in MSM dietary supplements and found that it worked on pets suffering from arthritis and lameness. When people saw the effect it had on their pets they began to buy MSM dietary supplements for themselves. MSM is found in raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. MSM is destroyed by cooking, and is extremely water soluble. MSM is sulfur and sulfur is found in eggs, cheese, and meats. A deficiency in sulfur may cause slow growth or fatigue.

In the book Dr. Stanley Jacobs lists MSM's most significant actions to be: an analgesic (pain controller), MSM supplements aid in the relief of inflammation, MSM passes through cellular membranes of the body, including the skin, MSM dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow, MSM blocks the action of cholinesterase, thereby helping to restore normal bowel activity, MSM dietary supplements reduce muscle spasms, MSM alters the cross linking process in collagen, therefore reducing scar tissue, MSM has anti parasitic properties (particularly for giardia), and MSM has an immune normalizing effect, as observed in some autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and scleroderma. One of the essential components in all life forms, sulfur is involved in amino acid production, connective tissue, skin, hair, nails, (in animals, hide and hooves), enzymes, hormones, and immunoglobulins. Dr. Jacobs lists the following as the most frequent applications of degenerative wear-and-tear arthritis Rheumatoid arthritis, Chronic back pain, Chronic headaches, Muscle pain, Fibromyalgia, Tendonitis and bursitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, TMJ problems, Post-traumatic pain and inflammation, and Heartburn.
