Oh, ok. I just assumed because I live a little bit west of Chicago and yes, there are tons of Polish people around here. But there are a rediculous number of Mexicans, it is so crazy. They are not just in Chicago, they are littered all over the state of Illinois. Coming from Pennsylvania I would of never guessed how many Mexicans are out here. I understand these people have to try and live better and what not, but holy fuck, they are taking over our country. I'm not racist by any means, but when you see more Mexicans per day than you see white and black people, there is something wrong. I live in Illinois, it's not like I live in Cali or Texas which is close to the border. We are 30 hours away from Mexico, how the fuck did they all get here. Are you making the analogy that Mexicans now are what Anglo-Saxons were during the start of the colonies? If you are, I would like to take that analogy a little farther. Notice that the Native Americans took the colonist in, and helped them to survive. The Native Americans helped the colonist to establish themselves only to have the colonist rape them of their land and their culture. The Euro-Americans completely destroyed what was already here.

Now, these illegal immigrants do not care about our culture, or our history. Most of them do not even want to learn our language. They want to butcher our national anthem, and stage demonstrations while holding Mexican flags, but protesting to not go back there. This leads me to believe that they do not want to assimilate, but would rather just live here as Mexicans, but absorb all of how government give-away money. I see the Mexicans trying to do the same thing that the Europeans did.

The difference is that the Native Americans couldn???t stop us, but we can stop the Illegal Aliens. I know it sounds greedy, but there comes a time when we must make a decision. Either we protect what is ours, or we give it away. If you want to give it away, then do it. You can start by taking all of your bank account savings and throwing it out into the street for homeless people to grab. I would rather hold on to the wealth that was left to us by our parents and grandparents. I may be a greedy bastard, but at least I am honest about it.
I am in a school project group with 3 other members who are international students. All of them speak perfect English, are motivated, intelligent, and are paying a lot of money just to be here. I asked them last week how they felt about this illegal alien business, and they all were pretty pissed that the US was even considering giving the Mexicans amnesty when they are here illegally.
It is very unfair to the people that come here legally, to even entertain the notion of giving citizenship to someone who disrespects our laws and customs by jumping the border. I know some Spanish, enough to halfway communicate with a Spanish speaking person, so are you telling me that they are not willing to do the same?

Here it is. These are the rules that I would impose, before allowing immigrants to become citizens, and that means not allowing them to get one cent worth of government benefits.

If you've taken any sociology, even at the undergraduate level, and American history, you would already know that it generally takes about two generations for immigrants to become properly assimilated into a host culture. Of course, it can take many more years if they are faced with ostracization by their paranoid neighbors. You can visit any large North American city and see neighborhoods still heavily populated by Poles, Hungarians, Italians, Swedes, Romanians, Ukrainians, Irish, German. . .and almost all of them landed here without a word of English capable of coming out of their lips. One of the reasons they gathered in neighborhoods was because there were other people who spoke their language, knew more of their customs, identified with their mother country. In many cases, that generation didn't learn English, their children learned both languages, and their grandchildren eventually assimilated into the great "English" culture.

English almost didn't become the language of laws and government in the United States anyway. German was heavily lobbied by a lot of our Founders, particularly because there were large numbers of German immigrants settling in several colonies.
