what to drink

I have never tried to really cut up since I've started training. I've been on a constant bulk routine for seven years. I have done a good job doing so but now I'm 23 years old and its not so easy to stay lean any more. I'm 5'9" 223lbs. with 17nish % bf anyways I love to drink soft drinks my favorite is Mt. Dew don't get me wrong I like my water too but I can't stand to drink it 24-7 especially when I eat a meal. I've stop drinking them before and that alone caused me to lean up well but it seems every diet drink tastes like pond water. What do some of you guys out there drink other than water and nasty diet drinks to cut the sugar intake out of your diets????:confused:
 
crystal light or ice water with a couple of slices of lime or lemon for taste.when i get closer to contest time i cut every thing out except the h2o:thumb:
 
Looks like you know how to push yourself. If you can train you have the self-discipline to change what you eat or drink.
Give up the pop, it's for kids...you ain't no damn kid are you???

H2o, and learn to LOVE it! If I am thirsty I buy a bottle of water and every time I do it makes me feel good about myself. If your friends get a pop, you get water. They may look at you like your weird but how do the look to you??

Best thing I ever did was give up soda. Took about 4 days and I was hooked on water. My skin is much better too (I'm 31 and was always breaking out on my chest and back).

Now when I get thirsty I give my bod what it really needs, water. And what is worse, carbonated water isn't absorbed as well as plain water, add to that the artificial colors and acids, well, it just ain't right boy!
 
I can't stand anything but H2O since I made the switch. Pop, koolaids & other quick stuff just parch my throat, so out comes the cold, clear wah-wah. Even when I scorf some milk, I get back into the water to wash it down.

I can't even do carbo-drinks without some liquid clear refreshment nearby.

i'll agree to that. I hated water, it made my mouth and throught dry, i would drink milk to get rid of the "dry" feelong. But once I forced the switch everything changed, now i'll get a glass and chug it like beer :)
 
Water is the best, but if you cant go strictly with it get some lemonage or grape juice to wash things down
 
Diet Coke, Crystal Light lemonade, water....skim milk if I allow myself a cheat on the weekend.
 
I used to be a mt dew junkie too...now if I HAVE to have a soda, I get the diet mt dew. The lemonade crystal lights are good too.

but seriously, I kicked the soda about a year ago. I can't even stand to taste it anymore, amazing. Now if I could only kick the apple juice, which is just as loaded with the sugar.....:finger:
 
Well about carbonated drinks drop them like a hot potato, run away from them like a plague. I have from servile sources read that the carbonation in the drinks even diet drinks can slow down your muscular healing time. What the carbonation does is it takes away the oxygen that is in your blood.. So after reading about that I stopped drinking pop that day.

However I do have a question for any one that can help and maybe even a help to those that do not like drinking water. What I do is drink juices usually 1 to 3 ratio 2 ounce of juice and 6 ounce of water this makes the juice last longer and I don???t drink a lot of sugar. What I want to know is I usually drink a blend of orange, peach and mango you can get those at Wal-Mart or other stores like it. I have read in a health book that you can tell how healthy some one is by the acidic level what I would like to know. Is orange juice not very good to drink a lot? Usually I drink that mixture 6 to 8 maybe even more times a day. Is water the only drink that we should drink or is tea with splenda or other better sugar subs that are good to use? I also drink other blends like carrot and pineapple and other blends that have no acidic drinks. is juice just somthing I should drink once in a while?
 
I know what you speak of, and according to that book, what you would drink will depend on if you are acidic or basic which I cannot tell from here. Look through the book again and they will give you signs as to what means what. Personally, I wouldn't put too much stock in it and I only drink water unless I am tying one on over the weekend.
 
I think Crystal Lite is awesome, but I cut it because of aspartame. I now make iced tea with different flavors or herbal types and sweeten it with some Stevia. Try it!:thumb:
 
whats wrong with skim milk?

I go with water. Cheap and always around.
