Bucs,Jets? Will it be by this sunday? Can Favre really do anything for the jets in that division?I can see him pushing the bucs that extra notch i their division which isn't that good anyway but what good is he to the Jets? With the defense in Minnesota and Adrian Peterson running the ball the Vikings would be a phenom with him at the helm? Where will he go?

If I was GB I would try and send him to the AFC. Last thing I want is to face him in TB, and they would this year.

If they trade him to Minny, then there management is retarded.

He won't get released.

I am so tired of this story. Want to see him show up to camp and win the starting job.

I have a different take on it. They shouldn't rule out trading him inside the division. Call the Vikings and tell them you want a first and third for his rights. Obviously the price will be a bit higher inside the division. Think about it this way. Are the Packers winning anything this year with Rogers at the helm? Probably not and with Favre only playing one more year where's the harm in moving inside the division?

I think the Packers can easily win there division. Rodgers is a decent QB, but the real growth last year was the development of there receivers and the running game. They had a good impact in Favre's numbers.

Uggh....I'd hate to see him go to the Jets. I love Farve but he goes there and I may not like him anymore. I can't imagine he'd want to go to such a poor team.......

I hope Favre has a terrible year, so tired of him. And yes, why would he want to go the jets. they are awful. And I can't see him in New York.

Speaking of Favre, where's he been hiding out lately? You don't hear about him too much since he announced his retirement.

I heard today on ESPN radio the Packers are considering paying him 20 million to not play anywhere. Anyone else here this? I just caught the tail end of the story.

Yep 20 mill over 10 years. And he would rather take that then play for the Jets LOL.

The fact that Favre is considering taking the cash and staying retired just shows you he only wants to come back for the money and not for the "love of the game" like the media is making it out to be.

I have lost all my respect for him. If he does come back and play, i hope he gets injured and is out for the season. That'll teach him a lesson.

I totally agree, if it was love for the game, he would suit up for any team that would have him. Although I'll always respect his talent and place in NFL history, he's looking like a complete fool. He had a great career, he should let it go and get on with his life. Oh wait, 20 million, who the fuck am I?

It's been five minutes and I haven't heard a Favre update.

Can somebody flip on ESPN and get the latest on what this douchebag is doing?

I would rather have Favre as my starting QB than half of the dipshits starting in the NFL. The fact that Favre didn't take the money and go away should tell you something about his character and love for the game.

$10 million in one year > $20 million over ten years

It's a no brainer.

Whats truly sad is that he's refusing to play for anybody but the Vikings.

Here's a franchise he's been with his entire life, a city who has adored him with all of their heart for the last 10+ years and he wants to go to a division rival?

It's all about sticking it to the Packers and that's where he's crossing the line.

Rumour has it a deal with TB could be reached in the next 24 hrs.

I am not sure where I sit on the who's at fault fence.

Sure Favre has sounded like a cocky arrogant dipshit. But Thompson (GM) also realizes he has a very talented young nucleus that could possibly dominate for the next 5-6 seasons, and needs to move forward.

I don't think either party has handled the situation that great.

ESPN is completely out of control with the Brett Favre crap. Never before have I wanted ESPN to blow up as much as I have this week.

Jets have offered the best package, Favre being a shitwad and instead of being happy that this bullshit is finally done, is angry that the Packers would want more from an NFC team.

This guy is a head case.

Me too. As much as Favre could have handled the situation better, management is clearly stalling to keep Favre out of training camp with another team so it sets him back. That is pretty low. If you really don't want him, trade him to the team of his choice.

EguessPN. Idiots

They aren't stalling to keep him out of camp. They're doing with Favre what they would do with any other player. The Buccaneers know that Favre is a huge pain in the side of the Packers and are in complete control of the situation. The reason the deal hasn't been made is because the Packers want fair value for Favre and have yet to get it from one of the teams Favre wants to play for.

They haven't even had any serious discusssions with anyone that I've heard. So how can they say they haven't gotten a good offer? They don't want him to go anywhere. But they don't want him either. Fucked up.

Absolutely they are playing games with Favre. The same games Favre is playing with them. It is an ego trip between Thompson and Favre.

with a current 4000 yard pro-bowl quarterback on as the starter, why would the bucs trade for a guy who doesn't know the system and will have limited time to pick it up? the first preseason games are here.

WTF?

That is alot of the talk. Especially when you have Garcia, who puts up pretty damn impressive numbers.

Also the fact that TB isn't really an offensive juggernaut. They rely on solid defence and field position.

Here's the latest:
"FoxSports' Jay Glazer disputes a Tampa Tribune report saying Brett Favre will likely be a Buc by Wednesday. Glazer says that the Jets have offered a much better trade package.
He says there's a lot of negotiation still to be done before any Brett Favre trade is completed. However, even though Favre is talking to the Jets, he clearly would rather play for Tampa. Favre is said to be frustrated with the Packers for demanding more out of the Bucs simply because they are an NFC team."

In other words, they have had serious discussions with at least two teams.
