What workouts do you REFUSE to do?

- Cable crosses. Feels too akward.

- Dips. Stresses the shoulder too much.

glad you mentioned these....i never do em either...i am of the opinion that calf size is genetically predetermined anyway to an extent, and plus you can make the argument if you don't do wrist curls, why do calf raises? Let the compounds take care of them

I agree, I haven't done calf work for probably 8 months minus a 3-4 week stint about 3 months ago, and my calfs look better than they ever have.

Calf raises. They've never done anything for me that heavy leg works hasn't taken care of.

No way! In only 3 weeks of doing them seriously with serious other leg work, my calves are looking MUCH better. They hit them HARD!

My only complaint with them are the nasty red marks on the shoulders after.

Leg extensions,leg curls,smith machine,tricep kickbacks,most ab exercises,forearm curls,and obliq exercises

was told by a pro bodybuidler to do calf raises.

everybody has his point ov veiw , what works for u may not work for others ,there is experience / age / weight /strength / shape / even it may fit wih ur workout and not fit with another one.......

I think calf raises are very important to a bodybuilder. If you pl or ol that may not be a big deal.

Holy shit, I get those red marks too. Almost look like stretch marks, they dont hurt, and they dont go away for days.

My calves have gotten bigger due to direct work. In fact, there was a time that I couldnt do much calf work cuz of shin splint pain every month for about a 12 month period. Though I did other leg work, my calves never got any bigger. Only time they did was when I attacked them directly.

I'm not suggesting that no one should do them. I just don't do them myself. I have in the past, and it didn't really make a difference from what I could tell. If I wanted to invest more of my training time to help them grow then I would, but I don't really care and my calves are plenty strong without direct work.
