I know I need whey but what should I eat for carbs? A banana and what else?
 
Bananas aren't actually considered a great thing PWO. You need something fast acting... Jay Cutler drinks Coke. Then again, he's on roids :laugh:
 
Do you mean a post-workout shake taken immediately after working out or a post-workout meal eaten roughly 1 hour after working out?

If it's a shake, whey and/or milk are good protein sources, and dextrose/maltodextrin and/or oats and/or fruit are good carb sources.

You can go the 'insulin spike' route - eg: dextrose/maltodextrose.

Or some have high glucose juice (eg: grape juice) or higher solid foods (eg: rice cakes, kids cereal).

Or you can have real foods - eg: Skim milk, FF/SF yoghurt, Banana, berries, Oats (ground).
