It wasn't me, but my boyfriend a few years ago was driving out to CA from Las Vegas for a competition I was doing. He wanted to do a photoshoot w/ me (also a bodybuilder), so he loaded some dyazide and started the drive out. 10 hr drive. Didn't eat. Made it to the morning show. We went back to my apt to relax and wait for the night show. He fell asleep. When it was time to go back, I tried several times to wake him up but he just wouldn't. So I finally yelled loud because I needed to get back (Don't want to be DQ'd at the night show when the Overall is a given..). He jumped up and immediately cramped up. Couldn't move. stuck. I had to leave and he couldn't move. So I left for him to work it out and catch up. Later I see him at the night show - he had hobbled over to the tub and sat in warm water for 2 hrs until the cramp relaxed.
So moral of the story --- don't chemically dehydrate yourself, drive across the desert for 10 hrs, fall asleep, and then get surprised.
