Well, I do not do it anymore now that I am older and wiser, but the signs I would look for are lack of pumps, fatigue, frequent injuries, illness, and plain lack of desire to go to the gym.

There are alot of symptoms to look for, but personally, when I have a difficult time getting to sleep at night and/or I get irritated by minor things very easily, I know I'm overtrained.

man, I would have to be at the gym like ten hours a day before I would lack desire to go... going to the gym is the only thing that keeps me from going crazy

I know I'm overtraining when I need something to hang on to so I can get on the toilet!
I know I'm really overtraining when I have to yell for the wife to help me get off the toilet!
