I dont do decline, I just do flat and incline. If I had to choose one, Id choose incline DB bench presses.

Declines, although great for the ego, cause some serious shoulder pain for me. Last time I did em, I was out for 3 weeks.

Same here, only flat and incline for me, which I think is ok... you won't have a weird shaped chest from that, trust me. :D My chest routine is usually just flat barbell bench and incline dumbbell bench.

I love flat bench, but it is also the only exercise that I get injured on. So its incline DB and decline barbell for me.

there is no best exercise for everyone. everyone's body is biomechanically different.

I hit my chest from all angles. so I do an incline movement, flat movement, decline movement and finish with a fly.

I've read that incline hits more overall volume of chest fibers than the others, but being a good lad, I like them all :D

^^"oh yeah decline is stupid",,. what do you base that on may I ask? its so ridiculous to say such a thing, like it means anything. why not just say that you don't like it if thats the case. Decline is a great movement, and if your lookin specifically for hypertrophy then decline recuits more fibers then the other two.

unless youve only done inclines your entire life, then you dont need decline

I would love to hear what scientific study you based your opinion on in the first place. jesus... BTW asking a question like "what is better" is non inclusive. it means nothing, why not be more specific and ask what would be more accommidating or condusive to your specific goals. almost everything has its place and its use in this game, very few things are always "bad" or "good" or "stupid".

flat

Muscle Gelz Transdermals

Only got a flat bench so flat BP it is. It does do decline, but I've never tried it.......hmmm, maybe I'd better. :hmmm:

It depends on what area of the chest you want to place focus on. If you want to build the lower pectoral - go for decline or flat. If you want to place focus on the upper part of the pecs - go for an incline. You should be able to lift more on flat than you can with an incline.

In terms of my preference? I prefer working out with an incline.

Flat is the best for overall. I would have to agree with LAM. You should do a little of everything. I do Flat, Incline, Decline and finish with bb flys. My chest is probably my best body part.

i like my inclines..havent done declines b4...maybe i'll give them a try

Declines always helped me build power for 1RM

Inclines made my chest wider and thicker looking :flex:

i like flat and decline for barbell and incline for dumbells

as LAM said 'there is no best exercise for everyone'

personally i like flat bench, followed by d/b inclines

Well said. I like declines occasionally because I can use a tad bit more weight relative what I flat bench press. I currently only do flat benching, but I have implemented both decline and incline pressing movements in the past.

I just do flat. 5 sets. That kills my chest. I'm really skinny though.
