Just wondering- do most of the guys here take 'roids because they have some professional reason, sports, BB'ing or modeling? Or is it an amateur thing just to see how ripped you can get. Sometimes I see guys about my size doing cycles (see my pics@gallery) and I think it's odd someone my size would do it, although there are some corner backs & wide receivers @ the NFL who are my size, so who knows?

All creatures great and small

How tall are you? Do you see yourself as a big fella or medium/small etc? I have trained for three years and have made good gains, yet when looking at some lads who are juiced, you really do see the difference in simple mass, muscularity etc (unless they don't eat right and train like shit) and it makes you realise you have a long way to go even if comparing yourself to professionals or just the big lads down your own gym. I guess some people juice to get super huge over a certain period of time or maybe cause they're complete super hardgainers and don't seem to get anywhere or simply just impatient. Remember, if you have a hobby or sport you participate in, you always want to be good at, or one of the best, if not the best so to enjoy it more. Same if your a weight lifter/bodybuilder. You always want to be stronger, always want more chest mass, quad sweep and the alike etc. It's just general competitiveness and enjoyment. If your a professional bodybuilder, trainer, sports/athlete etc. then the reasons become obvious. I myself, would only juice to get bigger for personal satisfaction, to be big, strong, confident etc. would definately have a bash at competing too if I felt I was big enough.

Yea but the gains you get are from the roids, and what happens when you quit them? Definatly decrease in size.

The gains are never strictly from roids...Juicing is not a magic fix...juice without training hard and eating right, all ull get is the bitch tits, zits and no gains!lol I think training and diet play a far bigger role in gains that steroids do...They just give an edge IMHO.

Yeah, decrease in size is a factor, but how much you lose will depend on loads of different factors, pct being one of them. Surely the whole point of pct is to reduce side effects, get your body back to normal etc but also to attempt to keep as much as your gains as possible. What's the point in doing gear, training your ass off for weeks, shoveling dollars/pounds worth of food down ya neck, getting gains your happy with then watching it go down the pan after the cycle is finished? it's always two step forwards, one step back. You'd be surprised how much muscle you can slap on just by training hard, eating enough of the right stuff and resting/sleeping enough, hardgainer or not without using gear. Good shout from crazy enough, diet and hard training are key factors, but roids do give a great advantage.

I'm 5'9.5" 173 lbs @ about 10% BF across my arms, chest & back & 12% BF @ my midsection. I see my self as having a medium sized athletic build, not a BB physique at all!! Although when I startd lifting I was 137lbs @ 22yo!!

Mmmmm...have you ever done a cycle? Have you ever read about the correct way to cycle?

If you do proper PCT, you will lose little of your gains. You will lose all of your gains if you fail to do a proper PCT or simply stop working out.

The gains you see while on anabolics are not fake muscle that just wither away or drain out of your body when you come off your cycle. The amount of gains you sustain post cycle depend on your PCT and training. Many people do not know how to get their natural test levels going again after shooting 500mg's/week of test for 12 weeks, and they blame any losses solely on the steroids, but its not. I have never lost more after a cycle than I had before it. I have always kept a good bit of my gains from various cycles of PH/PS's and it's due to being knowledgeable about PCT. If you know what you are doing steroids can cause incredible gains that you will sustain as long as you continue to train.

That's maybe why people decide to take gear to further themselves from just that athlectic look. You do have a good set of tri's, but again tonal definition always makes you appear bigger than you are, I was like this for years, cut to shreds but no great mass (Then I read up on nutrition etc). I'm not attacking you, as you've said, you don't have a BB physique, I myself class me under a medium build and am no way near a BB structure either but you seem to have a deficit mass on your chest, no quads or hams (areas that may typically lag or will remain stubborn to growth. I've had to blitz my chest and quads, heavy as I can go with as many different exercises possible just to tempt the bastards to put on abit of muscle. I'm sure if I cycled though and trained as hard and as discipined as I do now, my lagging areas would come along abit better, hence a reason why one may get on the juice). I train my ass off and eat/sleep as accuarately as possible to what I believe is a good way of naturally training, but like the things we lacked, (my arms, hams, calves and chest are slow developers, yet my shoulders, traps, back and quads grow with relative ease) I believe steroids would make them happen for me. If you get up to speed with your pct you could get great gains, be pleased by breaking your plateau (obviously, you may wanna try alternatives to shock stubborn bodyparts etc, like different exercises, compound, isolation lifts etc before banging on to juice) and keep a good percentage of your gains.

Damn straight. The people who juice and are not willing to work their ass off and sacrafice for the gains are not going to be happy. It ain't magic.

Amen to that... i get so pissed when people say that if u take roids then u are lazy... Shit... I think juicers are the hardest working.

i agree with everything mags has said

i lack that 'mass' on my chest, back and shoulders, always been rather lean and i always get good comments about my arms as they are relatively big and the cuts really show up well, but i've hit a wall in my training and when i got my buddy dropping dbol, deca, sust and a whole chemist of other anabolics in him and he is braggin to me how he put on yet another inch on his arms in the past couple of weeks it kinda pisses me off... knowing that i'm wasting all this time for nothing when all i had to do was run AS and i could blow up fast and get that mass which i'm desperately lacking, i'm also 6"2 so even though i've put on almoast 5 stone naturally since i started weights back when i was 16 i'm still thin (yeah i used to be 6"2 and 9st! scrawniest kid in my school no lie!), plus if i do get big enough i might compete or do some modeling

peace

OK.. PirateFromHell, for example: Looking @ your gallery -nothing personal here!- but you're not very ripped (your back has some decent cuts). Have you been lifitng long? What Do yu think your cycle will do for you? Just wondering, not being critical.

I don't juice, but I train hard as possible for what my body can manage. I imagine that if I did juice, the increase in strength, mass, confidence and overall feeling and positivity over time would allow me even further with my training capabilities. Maybe that time will come!:rocker:
