Wider or Closer grip for benching?

I believe that the closer together your grip, the more you use your triceps; whereas a wider grip would emphasize more of your chest.
 
The wider you go, the easier benching becomes and also more emphasis is put onto your chest and away from your triceps
 
So the answer is...? Both. Mix it up. If you want a big bench you need strong tri's but most powerlifters have a very wide grip. Both.
 
the wider you go the greater amount of torque is placed on the shoulder joint. that can be dangerous if you aren't careful.
