ok, i always thought "cut" meant the fat loss stage, so from what you said tey are obviously two different things... what is cutting? i probably sound like a total ignorant or idiot lol but hey, i dont claim to be an expert :P

well i think when someone is cutting he should set consisted of 12 reps.I am asking which is better : these sets or 5x5 strength training combined with fat lose diet

Oh boy, i'm sure Built will see this in a day or two and give you some of her links. I don't really keep those kinds of links bookmarked so sorry, you'll just have to wait for her or search around this site. I know she's posted the link in her sig and specifically posts it for people like 10 times a week.

For now i'll just say that cutting does in fact mean you are trying to lose fat. Bulking means you are gaining muscle. Its all bodybuilder lingo really, dieting = cutting = lose fat. In the end it all boils down to your diet, which Built will gladly supply tons of info about as well via her million links to useful articles.

Basically though you want to keep training how you've been training while maintaining or building but with some lower volume, depending on how big of a deficit you are running and how long you've been dieting. Once you start to limit your calories your body can't work as hard as it did and it starts to eat up muscles unless you give it just enough stimulus for it to switch over to eating up the fat instead. So you won't be doing 30+ heavy ass sets while dieting, but doing 5x5's and such is perfectly acceptable as long as you overall program isn't too stressful/high volume.

t16 youre acting like you're new to this site!

What are you talking about? Cutting is cutting fat/calories, whatever, getting cut up. Thats a diet change mostly. You cut fat while trying to keep as much muscle mass as possible because you WILL lose muscle. Thus, yes built will tell you to keep the weight on the bar, and I agree. This means you probably won't be reaching 12 reps...as if that is a magic number. The number of reps is based on the weight used and the capability...plus you just flat out recruit more muscle when using a heavier load.

You need to keep the total sets lower than normal because you don't have extra calories to use for recovery. And forget about "strength training" when cutting. Youre running a deficit when cutting, youre not gonna get stronger. Cutting basically means youre not eating enough to stay allive and your body resorts to back up stores of fat in order to survive..... Right?
