If you down grade you may get this error,
[h=1]"windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style."[/h]
i have ran across this many times downgrading windows 8 software or reformatting windows 7 computers. I have to pull the harddrives out dock them into my stardock and then format them in BIOS creating the proper partition. The basic delete and formate does not create a UEFI partition. There is also a bootable disk that can do this as well.
I actually like windows 8 after hacking the shit out of it. I don't run it but I am running it through VMware for testing purposes. What I like the most is the multiple screen configuration options are much more powerful and does not require you to get third party software for this. Also I like the loading your profile from the cloud feature. I migrated all my settings to the cloud with my profile so now EVERY windows 8 machine I log into has all my settings and configuration changes along with what ever files I have on the cloud.
The metro feature for deskstops or laptops is horrible and there should be a disable feature built into it, or a feature that allows it to auto go to metro if you have a transformer pad or hybrid laptop that allows you to undock the screen.
with in 2 years i believe samsung is going to bury both Windows and Mac there revenue base all ready makes both companies look like small businesses and they actually stated its their personal goal to crush the two. I wouldnt be surprised if you start seeing full blown andriod OS's for laptops soon.
