he brought martial arts to the big screen in the US. Bruce did to MA what Arnold did to bodybuilding in the US and that makes him special.

He was the first Asian actor to get a role where he was a bad ass, Kato in the Green Hornet was a super hero himself, more than just a side kick. He brought Kung Fu to the US against the wishes of Chinese Purists, he married a white woman in racially tense times. He revolutionized martial arts and action movies. He was the first mixed martial artist...

He was one of those rare shooting stars blazing across the sky of humanity for all to see, knowing he might burn out fast and still going for it. Where as most of us are content to just glide across the sky night after night amongst the hoards of other stars indistinguishable he scorched a path that will remain for eons.

It's like saying Arnold was just a great body builder who said some stuff and did some subpar acting in some movies. What matters is that in most things they strove for excellence.
