is this fine to do? or should i work out each muscle group once a week?

Once a week will do fine!

I wouldn't work out with weights 5 days in a row...

Took the words right out of my mouth. I hate working out the same b/part twice a week cause you have to worry about the intensity and if your going to be 100% for the next day that you work that b/part that week. I like to hit em hard and let them grow. How are you going to have time to grow if your hitting them again just 48-72 hours later, unless you do 1 exercise per muscle. I find that boring. I do 3-4 exercises per muscle depending on the size of the muscle I'm working, and I hit em with 4 sets each exercise ranging from 12-4 reps.

dam! you almost use my workout!
I go once per week as Hulk says.
But I break mine up like:
1) chest / bis
2) legs
3) off
4) delts / tris
5) back
6) off
7) repeat

You need to put a rest day in the middle of that split somewhere. Your body needs time to recover or you aren't going to grow optimally.

You could work a muscle out 5 days per week if you reduce the volume enough. For example, one set for your biceps on each day would be acceptable. 5 sets for your biceps each of the 5 days would be too much.

According to the principles of HST, there are hormonal benefits to working out a muscle group more frequently with less volume each session.

I've tried doing that kind of thing. I did one set of bench every other day and one set of deadlifts every other day. I didn't get the gains I wanted I found actually it became harder to do the same weight and reps.

I didn't like it, but I'm sure if I kept doing it and kept adjusting my diet and intensity it would of worked. I find it a lot less confusing if you just work a muscle once a week.
