Whenever I do any types of barbell curls the bones in my forearms feel like their going to break. Whenever Im done doing say 8 reps of a pretty heavy weight for me I have to set the bar down, hold on to it, and put some pressure on it in the opposite direction. This helps with the pain a little.

Does anyone else have this problem? How can I fix it?

use dumbells!

Ive been starting to but for some reason I like using barbells better. Do you know why dumbells help in this area?

or switch to the EZ bar. I don't do a lot of bb curls just for the same reason

Dumbells let you move in a way that is more natural or comfortable for the wrist and elbows......have you tried an EZ curl bar??

Yea, still hurts like hell on the EZ Bar. I actually let the gym early yesterday in a pissed off mood because my arms hurt so bad.

For some reason I dont think I have this problem if I start off with arms.

yeah i have the same problem when i start benching.then my freakin wrist hurts all the way through my workout. the ez bar don't really help i use it all the time

it did it today when i was working out while i was doing preacher curls but it stopped like in 30sec. thank god......it only hurts for me when i lift heavy weights off the benchpress and whan i bend my hand back when i'm doing curls ,the weight seems to push down on my hand when i bend my hand back and it puts stress on it and then it starts to hurt bad

I had the same problem when i firts started barbell curls, The pain did go away after several weeks, but my wrists still hurt a little after it.

I just did 4 shoulder excersizes last night and then went on to bi's/tri's. They still hurt but not as much as when I start with bench.
