What is your discipline? I studied Uechi-ryu for quite a few years, and also some Tsuroka do(like shotokan) for a bit. My "stand up" sparring is pretty good, but if you're a grappler I am probably done for. :p

2nd Degree BB = Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan: Korean Karate
Black Sash - Wing Chun Kung Fu : Chinese Kung Fu
2nd Degree BB - Bu Duk Kwan (American Combat Karate)
3rd Degree BB - Goju ryu - Okinawan Karate
1st Degree BB - choi Kwan Do Chineese Karate (good fighting style)

Styles practices but did not reach black(like it really matters):
Savat, Kempo 6 months under the instruction of Ed Parker prior to his death.

The end.

uhh huuu lol

I didn't even get into my military training. hahaha

I am a shodan(1st degree) in Uechi, not ranked in anything else. It's an okinawan style similar to Goju, which I see you have a 3rd degree in. You guys do have a sanchin, correct? In which your fists are closed? Sanchin is our basic (if you call it that) kata, only our hands are open. If Goju is what I think it is, the styles are both similar, tight, full contact, etc.

Goju is both a hard and a soft style Karate. Example would be hard straight strikes or blocks and then again soft circular movements with open hand. It's the perfect yen and yang phylosophy. mixing powerful hard strength techniques in combination with softer movements that capitalize more on speed, flexibility and deflecting movements. Did I answer your question?

Yes, as I suspected, very similar styles. Straight hand strikes, circular blocks. Are you still training? How many hours a week? Actually, we are moving this thread OT. :D But you started it.

Since my kids were born I gave up instructing and I only train alone several days a week. I used to teach Several law enforcement agencies in New Jersey for example NJ State Police and the Organized Crime Unit F.B.I. Newark field office. I just don't have that kind of time anymore.

Oh and as for going OT we can do whatever we want so there FREEMAN!!!!! SHUTUP. hahahaha

"brisk" walking Bear? Lets change the verbage to "speed" walking.
Brisk walks are what homosexuals and very old people like me do bro. hahahaha

For me cardio at the gym is BORING so it's all about headphones...tuning out and listening to whatever music gets you motivated.

I love spin classes and do like two-three a week. It's a great intensity workout (not to mention the hottest people in my gym take spin - which is a nice motivation!

Mountain biking is my favorite "cardio", although it's really a full body workout. Besides MTB, I do spinning classes and run on a treadmill on occasion.

Hmmm, pretty soon I'll be doing SPINN classes, before the riding season starts. Why waist a day on the trail to get back in shape...
It's gwonna be a pain in da butt,I know!!!!

Too bad AlBooby is so far,I'd gladly take his SPINN class!!!

 Unless, when he says that he teaches a SPINN class he means something ELSE????
