Like if you have a cough or sore throat? I wouldn't think so but Im just wondering.

It depends what the sickness is. Sore throat - no. Cough - probably not, unless it's due to a bad cold.

If you workout at a public gym, you should stay the fuck away. Don't be a rude asshole by spreading your shit to other people. Nobody hates getting sick worse than people who train.

i do, but that is because i work out at home. Micheal jordan played a playoff game with 104 fever. i worked out with a 104 fever. although it was only cardio and boxing.

That is dumb as shit dude. Making it to a game while being sick is different than working out when sick.

You actually make your illness worse, your illness will last longer, and you make no gains when working out while sick.

I do.

When I squat, I use my diahrea as sort of an afterburner.
I sneeze at the top of a crunch.
I vomit at the peak of a Barbell Row.

It works.

I vomit in the gym all of the time, but not because I am sick. Working legs after a big meal insures that I will throw up in my mouth a little after each set.

Amen.

Bottom line: you're sick for a reason. Rest up and get better. Health > Training for training's sake.

Something tells me that you're a real Top Gun in your gym! :roflmao:

im used to football where we had to go sick or not. lol

Yeah, and I'll tell you something about that shit, too. I was a dumbass at let my coach talk me into playing when I had torn ligaments in my ankle. My ankle is still fucked today. It took me two years to get enough mobility in the mother fucker to do a squat to parallel. Now I have arthritis developing in that same ankle.

If you qare sick, tell your coach to go fuck himself. If he doesn't respect his players enough to rest them when they are ill, you don't need to be playing for him. He obviously doesn't have his players safety in mind.

You serious? That's not healthy dude.

I have acid reflux, I vomit balls of stomach acid 5-10 times a day, especially if I eat certain things. But I keep dumping food down me at the rate of 3000-7000 calories a day, so I can't really bitch. I know I'm doing it to myself so I just accept the effects that go with it..

ok witchblade.
Kelju i did almost the same thing i played when i injured my knee last year the trainer said i couldnt play last season i injured it in august my coach told me fuck the trainer and play i did that and luckily i was fine last season but this season i injured my knee again from a helmet to knee and know my knee is really messed up

I hate to hear that man. I was bred for football. I was damn good, and I loved the game, but I am having to pay now for playing then. You will be learning the same thing that I am learning now when your shit starts hurting everyday for no fucking reason.

I guess what I am saying is you are young. Treat your body with respect now, or your body will punish you for it later.

my knee i think is fucked up for life. when ever i squat down my knee cracks and pops. also if it gets hit it hurts more than usual. did you play football in college?

I had an academic scholarship at one school, and I could have walked on to the football team at another. I took the academic, and am still glad I did it.

Personally, being sick gives me the perfect excuse just to rest. I also use excuses like...I don't want to spread germs at the gym. When I'm sick the nost I'll do is go for a "brisk" walk.

I wouldn't advise working out when you are sick, you will get better quicker if you rest, allowing you to get back in the gym earlier, as opposed to working out while sick and not being able to give 100% at each workout

It depends how you define "sick."

For instance, last month I had food poisoning. I threw up for like twelve straight hours before I finally fainted and woke up in a hospital bed. When i got home that evening, did I go to the gym? Hell no.

But if I have a cold/sore throat/cough, etc., yeah I still go to the gym. It sucks to go at first and you feel sluggish for a little while but I find that working out when I'm sick makes me feel better...if I feel weakened and feel like I'd waste my time with weights, I still do a little cardio. It might not be the 100% most healthy thing for me to do at that point in time but I'm really not worried about it too much if it's just a cold...plus, like I said before, I always feel better physically after working out.

Usually not. In most cases your body needs the down time to recover, working out can just exaust you even more. Think about it in the long run.

That's of course if you don't plan on dying any time soon.

So you carry your germs to the gym and give them to everyone there. Wow, you are an asshole!

if i am sick, i train twice a day. three times a day if i am really sick.

There's a brilliant comment. So if yo're sick at all you're just supposed to crawl under a rock until you're 100% better? Do you go to work if you have a cold? Talk to your family when you have the sniffles? Make contact with anyone in anyway when you're not entirely 100% healthy? Way to go shitcock, spreading your germs to everyone around you...
