There would be no way I could see the evidence in a court room and then be the judge. I can maintain my emotional detachment and look at the legal issues from a philosophical perspective just fine, but in a court of law I'd lose that detachment and he'd be screwed.

i think a lot of people have an easier time seeing humans suffer. not sure why but it is a hell of a lot easier to find human agony and gore online than it is real footage showing the brutality of dog fighting. the images are horrifying... the sounds of their agony are somehow even worse.
if i suddenly came upon a scene and a human and a dog were in the water drowning i'd try to save the human first and i think that's the right choice but i'd fight like hell to save the dog too. the funny thing, one that compels man as a species to love dogs so much maybe, is that they will sometimes risk their lives to save us too. the least we can do is fight for them when they are in a position where they are being used for entertainment and profit in a bloodsport.
