Hey I've had low blood sugars for a long time and I've always been way skinny.

Is there anyone that has had this problem before? I go to work out and I've always put an intense effort into weightlifting, but I just can't go longer than say 15 minutes. I start losing circulation in my body, especially my arms (if I'm using them to lift). I've talked to a doctor about it because after an episode of rapid breathing and loss of feeling in my arms I was scared I was developing diabetes, and apparently I just have really, really low blood sugar levels. I've searched a bit about hypoglycemia and I just don't know what I can do to safely raise my blood sugars -- the right way to raise them, I mean.

My diet is almost 100% frozen vegetables with unsalted butter, buttered whole grain rice, bagels, cold cuts and deli meat, with occasional fruit and nuts, etc.

Should I be actively adding things like ice cream or candy in my diet?? I have no problem NOT eating those things, and I always thought it was good that I didn't eat them.

I'm at a loss and I guess I'm just going to start eating whatever I want if I can't figure this out because I will never get where I want at this pace. I hate getting pushed out of the gym because my body just fails so early on in my workout.

Your diet is crap.

Why do you think eating MORE crap will make you healthier?

Please read some of the stickies and start tracking your diet. I suggest FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal because it's free.

My comment about eating more ice cream and such was mostly a joke.

I don't eat those things right now, so that's why I was thinking of adding them to my diet. It doesn't totally make sense to me why they exist if they're so bad for us to eat.

I have had diabetes for more then 20 years now an it may affect your workout thats why you plan for that by taking care of yourself an planning ahead.

Ice cream is good for you if you eat it in moderation. Before you get into putting work into your body you should do some research theres more to it then eating healthy. You have your low carb days you have your cheat day you must constantly switch things up to trick your body into growth you would make faster an better progress by studying the different meal plans for different workouts you will most likely switch your workouts an meal plans every 4 to 6 weeks so don't get used to one way training.

So are vegetables and whole grain rice bad? Or what?

I'll check out more stickies.

It depends on your goals. Forget the stickies ask the mods.

Thank you, I said the same thing when Lee wanted me to quit smoking cigarettes 9 years ago, I finally quit and feel healthier and I hate her for that.

That bitch.

The Moderators WROTE the stickies to avoid confusing advice like this.

Diet is a science....it ain't about throwing in a little bit of this and a little bit of that followed by a cheat day, 150 grams of protein and a bag of granulated sugar.

Read the stickies.....THEN ask questions related to the information in the stickies....you will get better results, I promise.:D
