dogs are amazing!
that was cool, but its stupid to sacrifice a dog like that, or even get him in that jeopardy...yeah, poice dogs are a tool, but they are very freaking expensive and time consuming and I would totaly cry if any of our dogs got injured in any way.....in our department, we wouldnt let our dogs in to any gun situation....
Police Horses are as well taken care of as the dogs. Most are happy to be out and about everyday it's the ones that the weekend cowboys have that have a sad life. The ones whose owners bought a tiny plot of land and built a shitty shack for a barn because they can barely afford a horse as it is, and only come up every weekend because they have to feed the horse, but they only ride it once a month or just in parades.....Training or no training, those dogs are mother fucking champions.
One of my friend's roommates is a narcotics officer. I spent a bit of time with the dog, and the dog looked as happy as any animal I have ever seen. You can see just how the dog carries itself our proud and happy the dog is.
The job may be dangerous, but the dog is living a great life. I don't think it is wrong.
Now the police horses, on the other hand, look like the most depressed animals I have ever seen. I feel so bad for them.

Ditto. My parents are horse ppl (not centaurs, they just like horses) so I've indubitably been involved in trades and training. Service animals are almost always taken good care of, they're an asset, like a car or other piece of equipment. We've taken in a few horses that were in deplorable states, its sad how the private sectors treat animals.
The physical care oif an animal has nothing to do with their happiness. Dogs are social animals thata love to serve and you can see it in their eyes.
You have to break a horse's spirit before you can ride them. I spent the first 18 years of my life around horses and taking care of them. I know what a happy animal looks like, and those police horses look as depressed as hell.
Dogs > Cats

I could train a lion to do that while riding in on his trusty steed.....I was just thinking....lets see a cat do that.

Am I the only one that sees the irony of KelJu being the one to say this?

A lion or tiger would eat the dog, horse, and the officers.
a)that you have a friend, b)that a dog would be happy around you and c)that you forgot to mention the narcotics officer is slang for the guy who has his hand on his gun when you go to see your dealer....Oh yeah, there is irony coming from at least 3 directions in that single post.
