Hey, how do you guys like articles from these two coaches, they seem to be trust worthy coaches. I'm looking for guys from whom I could learn a lot about training techniques and nutrition..

it's pretty good stuff.

i tend to like cressey better than cosgrove. neither of them are saying anything revolutionary though.

there are great people you can learn from that don't write for t-bag.com...people seem to think that is the only place to get info and that the authors for that site are the only credible sources in the industry. but it's not.

I've read Cressey's stuff for years, and while it may not be revolutionary, his stuff is solid, accurate and useful. I'll take that over over-hyped bullshit claims any day of the week.

Cosgrove I have respect for, but he sells a lot, if you know what I mean. He's more "Men's Health". Cressey's more about the athlete.

When I saw what Cressey has achieved even though he is young then I thought that guy must be good.

I don't only read T-Nation, although I like it. Thib and Waterbury (if it's spelled right) are guys I like too. Gonna read Rippetoes Starting Strength also...

So for now it's five guys for me:

Cressey
Cosgrove
Berardi
Thibs
Waterbury

Venuto and Tsatsouline worth it too?

BTW, you guys trust Mehdi from StrongLifts.com? He doesn't have certificate or anything (I think) but has a huge site and has read a lot of books...

Venuto appears to be going through a period of moritorium at the moment.

Pavel on the other hand I find intriguing.

For excruciating detail on dietary matters, Lyle McDonald's unbeatable.

What did the guy do to deserve moratorium? I liked his Burn th Fat, Feed the Muscle book..

"deserve" moratorium? I don't follow.

BFFM is wildly popular, but somewhat out of date. I've read interviews with him lately where he appears to have moved on from some of the more outdated notions in his book.

I agree but I still think that BFFM is a very good book/guide for beginners. It really stresses the importance of food selection, goal setting, and food tracking.

How many people just starting out do you honestly think could follow a PSMF or UD2.0 or anything like that? I can say with almost 100% certainty that I would have failed horribly if I tried to do 2-3 years ago what I do now.

I failed when I tried BFFM-type programmes. I needed Atkins when I started. I do NOT do well on low fat diets and six micro meals a day, with cardio. I would not recommend it to a beginner in my cohort - and besides, the OP isn't looking for books for beginners. He's asking who is good to learn from.

Cressey is great. He knows quite a bit about strength, but also improving movement quality in general.

Cosgrove provides good information, but his knowledge of the human body, strength, and periodization doesn't rival Cressey's in my opinion.

I'm asking what did he do so that he is going through a period of moratorium...

Wasn't there a statement in BFFM that non-meat or non-milk proteins are useless? I might have read that in other book though...

Again, I don't understand the question. No clue on the meat milk thing.

It appears to be what he's doing while he writes his new book.
