For you gun owners

Damn. So my choice of armor piercing incendiary ammo wasn't so wise, eh? :pissed:

Seriously though... that's a good call. I'd never considered the posibility of being slammed in court because my ammo was cruel and unusual.

That's the main reason you should NEVER use handloaded ammo for self defense. The other guy's attourney will paint you as some blood crazed soldier for hire type maniac who gets pleasure from killing innocent people.

Even the name of your ammo can get you into trouble, that's why you won't find any Black Talons on gun store shelves anymore. ;)

Generally speaking you should carry the standard duty loads most PDs use, which is Federal, Speer, and Winchester.

will- whats your take on smith wesson revolvers? i'm juggling around the idea of getting a .357 mag stainless steel with 6" barrel for my next toy...whenever that may be...I'm a little on the fence with sw and taurus, but also heard some good things about ruger.

Ruger GP-100. Most indestructable .357 on the market. Have owned one for 20 years and it's every bit as good as the day it came out of the box. :thumb:

The S&W 686 is one of the finest wheel guns out there. Ruger GP100 is also a fine revolver for a few less $$$. I wouldn't own a Taurus anything personally. I don't risk my life to budget firearms like Taurus.

dont know how much the taurus typically runs, but I've found the sw 686 for around 500-600 bucks, which I find extremely reasonable.

Yes, the Ruger is a few $$ less usually and a rugged well built gun too.
