As long as you are old enough and have training experience under your belt, and do it properly (research). I was gonna say if you had some POG-ass desk job then creatine might be of better use. As for what element you'll be attached to, it's really a toss-up. I know I have mad respect for some of our combat medics over here. I've seen them do some incredible things, and save lives.
