He probably wouldn't be BUT he doesn't give a fuck about the Republican or Democratic establishment at the moment and that is really pissing off and scaring both parties in DC. Trump running his mouth and stirring the pot could be a good thing in the short term. Both parties are corrupt as fuck and if you don't see or believe that I feel for you.
I'll agree with this, but Ron Paul is a much better choice to do this, plus he was in Bruno, so he has star quality.

I would vote for Ron Paul and hopefully he runs as a (R) this time so he actually has a chance of getting on the ticket with an opportunity to win. He's one of the few in DC I trust. The RNC would shit their pants if the people put him on the ticket.

And Regan was a fucking actor, and look how much head he gets from the so called fiscal conservatives! Being an effective leader comes from being intelligent, a good motivator, and hopefully a little integrity. Bush was a 3rd or 4th generation politician, groomed for the position, and a complete and utter failure.
We aren't hiring CEOs, we are electing leaders to represent the needs and concerns of the American people.
I prefer him over GWB, but in the end all politicians are corrupt.
The point is not that Obama is doing a poor job (which I think he is). The point is that both the right and the left do nothing but point the finger at each other and often times make up facts. Yes, Obama has spent a lot of money. No, he is not responsible for doubling our debt - that trend started with Reagan (See: United States public debt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - notice the rise on debt started in the 80's). Obama is responsible for at most 4 trillion in debt, however that is a far cry from the majority. Even that number is a bit jaded - you need to take into account what % of the increase was due to mandatory spending versus new spending under Obama. A large part of our spending is interest on the debt from the last few decades.
You like to point the finger and say "See, that democratic black man got us into big debt!" while disregarding the facts that politicians in your own party are just as responsible if not more.
And why did you decide to quote the highest priced gas station in the country? That's an outlier, not the norm. I believe I read an article about that particular station and price gouging, I'm sure I can find it if you would like it.
Don't try to distort the facts by cherry picking only what fits what you want to believe.
Trump (to say it again) is a publicity whore who gets in public spats with celebrities, and plasters his name on many things.
Trump is either lying to the small base of birthers or has not done his research on how one is or becomes a US citizen. He also has not researched the Long Form Birth Certificate (if he isn't lying).

the debt ceiling was raised 11 times under GWB now all of a sudden it's a big issue. a large portion of that debt is interest for serving loans which means a $0 return on those investments (wars, supply-side tax cuts funded on borrowed monies, etc.)

Probably because during most of GWB years we had a booming yet fake economy going on and nobody gave a shit because they personally felt negro rich. Now a fair percentage of the middle class is one weeks lost paycheck from living in grandma's basement and since they had to balance their budget when the HELOC ran out, they expect our sorry ass government to do the same.
Instead our sorry ass government is still borrowing/printing trillions of dollars and it expects their credit limit to be raised every year instead of cutting spending and paying down the principal.
Pick and choose whatever you want to make your point.
President Reagan was governor of California from 1967 - 1975 and was in the political spectrum as early as the 1950s.
CEO's are leaders as well and should not be discounted just for the sake of being in a business environment. It seems groomed politicians enjoy ramming our economy into the ground and spending like sailors in a whorehouse, mostly to buy votes - someone with an actual eye towards fiscal responsibility would be refreshing.
As a New Yorker who has seen Trump through the ages....going back to the 80's...I am shocked to think anyone would take this guy serous.
