Marijuana, do you consider it medicine or not?

I agree I dont think its medicen at all I think it should be baned and only legal to "some pepole" that it would help. Like pepole who have Cancer.
Then you do think it's a medicine....:joint:

I believe it should be legal to those who have serious health problems and as a last ditch effort to manage chronic pain. I mean, they use cocaine in dental procedures.

Albeit chemotherapy is a good means of managing cancer, have you seen the amount of negative side effects patients go through? Seriously, it's all about big pharma and money.

My take is yes especially for those who have a eating disorder or trying steer clear of pain meds due them causing problems in the gastro part of your body later on. I furthermore don't think that there is anything more wrong with it than alcohol. What would you rather have an alcoholic friend or marjunia friend? The harm from cigarettes far as compounds used to make them are more harmful than bud!

God Bless

It is not a drug, but it can be medicine. Drugs are synthesised from plants or chemically developed. Most plants which drugs derive from have some medicinal properties.

Pot is a plant, it is not a drug. Further, it is impossible to overdose on pot. It is very possible to overdose on any drug.

Pot was made illegal out of moral and racist attitudes before any good science could dispel the myths surrounding it. No ingestible product should be banned by any government. If a person wants to drink Lysol, they should have the right. The government should take 100% of the money they rob from us (taxes) which is wasted on the war on drugs, return half of it to the people and spend the difference counselling people who would want to drink Lysol.

Voila, unemployment solved and economy solved. You don't even have to tax it or regulate it...

Of course its medicinal..There are numerous placebo controlled trials that show how efficaceous it is in spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis and other neurolgical diseases that manifest with sometimes debilitating muscle spasms. It is the best antiemetic for cancer patients, sometimes the only medicine that controls hyperemesis from chemotherapy when odansetron, phenergan, compazine and reglan fails. The fact that this is illegal but alcohol and nicotine aren't is due to this country's puritanical sense of morality which has nothing to do with reality and medical ethics. Marijuana is much less likely to shut down your respitory drive than narcotics ( which are just derivations of heroin and opium )and benzodiazepenes ( sometimes used for crippling muscle spasms). It's wonderful for my AIDs cachexia, or people with wasting or malabsorption diseases that induce cachexia. Can it be abused, of course. Honestly, I would rather deal with a pothead than a oxycontin seeker, at least in the former, the coroner isn't calling me in the middle of the night to let me know someone has "accidently" overdosed on methadone and went into respiratory arrest.......I do have reservation with smoking it often in those with chronic lung diseases though.....

The hypocrisy is crazy. They bust patients for using it in CA, citing federal laws that make it illegal. Yet, my wife has given patients marinol for appetite and nausea issues. shouldn't the hospitals be prosecuted as well?

Marinol is a Pharmaceutical drug, therefore it's legal :D

Drug: A substance used in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of a disease or as a component of a medication.

Just because its a plant doesn't mean its not a drug. i am pro-weed too. lol
