I'm getting ready to begin my first cycle. I've been researching/looking forward to this for a long time now and I completely believe i'm ready. The only problem is, I've had some nagging shoulder inflamation for a while now. The doctor said to take time off of upper body training, which I did, but I can still slightly feel the pain. I've lost quite a bit of upper body mass, and I don't want to lose any more.

So, if you were in MY shoes, would you...

1. Wait until the shoulder feels completely fine to begin the cycle, accepting any upper body atrophy,

OR

2. Begin the cycle now, hitting legs EOD

To be honest, my legs could really use the work anyways...

what to do?
:hmmm:

Hopefully minor inflammation is the only issue, I was told pretty much the same thing (I asked for an MRI but they wouldn't do one yet), and my shoulders still hurt like hell almost 3 months later....

Honestly I would take a break and see how you feel in a few weeks, and then follow up with the doc if it's still not 100%

I lost almost 10 years in the gym based on the advice of a Doctor.....and still hurt every freaking day. I started back training in March....and the pain is not as bad as it was while I wasn't training.

After all of my time lost, I would tell you to listen to your body more than your Doctor about a little pain.

Get your gear, eat right, train like a mother fucker, and rest!

.....but legs EOD?????? are you nuts?

lol well maybe like every 3rd day...

yeah honestly I knew before going in she wouldn't even really look at it, and tell me to take a break from lifting, and that's exactly what she did.

"raise your arm, now to the side, does that hurt? ok, I think it's probably just inflamation, just take a couple months off of any upper body lifting." I was literally in there for less than 5 minutes.

i'm probably going to go ahead and start the cycle, hitting legs hard and heavy and going 80% on upper body.

It all depends what your first cycle looks like, some compounds can actually help with joint and tendon health while others can be counter productive.

I personally would like to be 100% before cycling, unless im running compounds specific to help heal an injury.

Good advise!
