I recently quit smoking, yay and omg I cannot believe the I actually want to! I usually do 50 minutes on the elliptical at a good pace - between 150 and 160 heartbeats per whatever (I don't read, watch tv, talk on the phone etc, I actually sweat and work-out). Since I have quit smoking, my workout is not hard, at all. I'm mainly into endurance, lots of lean muscle. I still sweat but not rivers of sweat. I know, this post sounds silly but after 20 years of smoking, began at 16, I'm not used to exercise being this easy. Should I work out at anaerobic levels to get a more intense workout? I'm not training for anything even though I feel like I could do a marathon. My training is more for me and it makes me feel good (I also do strength training 3 times a week). For my lungs to get more of a workout shouldn't I breath harder, more intense workout?
Thank you

Smoking is the cause of the cancer and also many complex problem of the heart and lungs. So we should avoid the use of the smoking and also quite smoking if someone interested to do the smoking and doing currently.

Smoking increases the synthesis of RBCs because of ineffective binding of oxygen that is displaced by CO. You could be experiencing heightened association of oxygen because of more RBCs.

Good that you leave smoking.....
So please share some tips for stop smoking?

I smoked a pack for 3 years and quit a lil over 5 months ago. The bad cravings go away within a week and it gets easier and easier. I think the key is mentally preparing but more so really wanting to quit, than it becomes easy. Also take a look at this every morning to remind yourself...

I smoked for 15 years. I stopped around the same time I quit drinking and using drugs.
Now I have a brother and my mother who both have cancer. Its not related to smoking but Im in the cancer ward as we speak watching my mom go through chemotherapy....it sucks. Trust me you want to quit smoking.
