the #1 engine should have been shutdown and the prop brake engaged or have stopped windmilling before the main entry door was opened. you can leave the #2 running if you have a quick turn flight. most pilots or attendents will exit first and stand by the stairs to assure no one walks toward them. Its a fact that props and turbo fans have a hypnotic affect and people are drawn to them.
It would shock you how stupid pilots can be and how much shit the write up as inop when the fact is they never turned the system on.
