Don't know hardly anything about that state, never really much talk about it on the news on the web or anything.

I know that some states are finally upping the minimum wage in the metro areas and Santa Fe is one of them it's almost $10/hr, outside the metro I think the federal minimum of $7.25-$7.50 applies.

Born and Raised in Northern NM.

It's one of the most beautiful states in the union, but it's also horribly impoverished, violent and drug-ridden. Santa Fe is a wonderful city with a decent nightlife. Albuquerque is an absolute shithole, and the entirety of Southern New Mexico is even worse.

Basically, as long as you stay North, you'll get along just fine--especially if you're outdoorsy/like to ski or snowboard.

I am not trying to upset TODAYS.. I was born and raised in NM... There is nothing fucking there. unless you like to hunt and fish BLM is great plenty of public land..... OK now jobs for get about it unless you are in the MED field or the semiconductor field. Intel is in rio rancho, motorola in ALBQ, philips is in albq as well. Now if you ahve a certain skill set you could move to los alamos work for the GOV. and plenty of state jobs but you better know someone... Man I left 14 years ago and never looked back went back a few weeks ago on leave to visit the old man and the place is still fucking shitty.

OK up side plenty of places to go gamble. SNOW!!!! heat if you like that shit cold in the winters as long as you live pretty much north of TorC. western new mexico is barren. then there are lots of cool places to go see old INDIAN shit. if you are in to that thing.. OH almost for got plenty of phat ass mexican girls .. AND GREEN CHILE. I would move to colorado if I where you..

One last thing I don't know where you live now but the state tax is pretty high.. I could keep going BRO but you will do what you want regardless.. Lots of retirees that live in NM... AND SHIT TONS OF POOR PEOPLE poorest state in america last time I checked..

PLenty of other states to move to where you stand a fighting chance of staying above the american national median level.. just my two cents bro.. cross80 OUT

This. My experiences in New Mexico haven't been too different. Not a lot of good employment unless you're well-educated (Los Alamos, Intel, etc.). But then again, I never lived there. I just travel a lot.
