massive headachee at the end of a session

need to know if anyone has experienced this before, not cool at all, and becmoing a regular issue..

last night, at the end of my workout i was doing some barbell complex (10 each of deadlifts, bent rows, hang cleans, push press and back squat) with 75 lbs. by the time i was 5 deep into my first set of squats, i had sucha MISERABLE headache, it felt like someone kicked me square in the base of the skull. Need to know if you guys think this was me being dehydrated, just stress from such a high intensity effort or possibly a bigger issue. the same thing happended last week, when i was finishing up a 1 mile run..

Lol, no, I've taken it about 5 or 6 times. No issues like this outside of once. Before
 
My first thought would be high bp. intense exercise will dramatically raise your bp, especially while doing the valsava maneuver. this is when holding your breath through the push phase of a movement like squats or deads. I've seen studies where experiences body builders' bp get into astronomical levels. It's usually not a problem, but if you're getting a headache, then it may not be good. Your supps may be making it much higher. does your gym have a bp cuff?

Interesting theory, I don't know for a fact if they have one or not, but I will find out. Thanks brother
 
Dehydration? How's your water intake look? My brother used to drink nothing but coffee all day and when we would lift, he'd get a headache just from the warm up.

yeah thats the other thought, normally i drink a good amount of water, but i feel like i TOTALLY screwed up yesterday..
 
Does it hit you all of a sudden (not like it comes on gradually)? I had that years ago just before an orgasm (really). It was so bad I almost passed-out, and it was right at the base of my skull, and like you said, it was like a mule kicked me. I finally figured out if I took Motrin an hour before sex, it never happened again.

It did finally stop, but I never figured out why it started or why it stopped.

Dehydration, per workout supplements, excessive use of stimulants (coffee) throughout the day or improper breathing can cause this. Eliminate all these possibilities and your problem will go away, and if not, it's probably wise to visit a doctor. Good luck
 
Thanks brothers. Talked to my chiro as well as his wife (massage therapist) its lookingn more like the upper head of the trap as well as the muscles in my neck\back of head could have cramped or become extremely fatigued and said fuck it. I'm icing the shit out of it tonight, tomorrow will be an interesting experiment,i I will be upping my water intake,focusing on breathing, and uh.. praying lol
