Obama Urges College Students in Ohio to Vote - YouTube

President Barack Obama is urging college students in Ohio to vote early, noting that the state's registration deadline is just hours away. The president says, quote, "everything we fought for in 2008 is on the line in 2012." (Oct. 9)

I guess we all should be lucky having lived through the greatest period of false prosperity in US history...

Obama has ignored these students who have been continued to get screwed for the last 4 years - and now he's asking them for their vote.

Typical asshole politician.

He'll need the young and gullible vote.

Youthvoters. Obama's biggest and most enthusiastic believers from 4 years
ago have graduated into a job market from hell. Young people are
disillusioned, frightened, and broke- a bad combination. The enthusiasm is
long gone. Turnout will be much lower among young voters, as will actual
voting percentages. This is not good news for Obama.

imagine if they actually told people the truth about the economy. the jobless college graduate is just getting worst after every recession and it's hitting different cities at different rates. I couldn't find a job for shit in Philly in '89 after I graduated with honors.

Education is a joke kids on financial aid use the money they get irresponsibly and the schools rape the students for tuition. I pay 1500 a class, that is fucking insane. I am just happy that the GI Bill is covering it.

shit my girl would be paying 1000 a unit for her masters, but got accepted as a GA. Which is a student that works for the school as an athletic trainer, they have to travel with every sporting event (full time job) and get there school paid for. But there is only two GA's a year so every one else is paying $$$. Over 20k a year basically. From start to finish her masters with her BS would have cost her close to 90k. I was able to get her BS paid off luckily before interest rates kicked in, but that shit is nuts. luckily there is a high demand for her field, but they are greatly underpaid. We will be happy with 45-50k a year, but in reality she should make over 80k. CA schools underpay their trainers, TX pays high, but I wont move cause of my job.

I'm looking in to taking some science classes at a local community college. I already have a BS but may want to get an MS in another field. In-county tuition for the undergrad courses is $120/credit including all fees so it is stupid not to.

In county meaning they give a discount to the locals? Pardon my ignorance....I've just never heard of such a thing.

Community colleges give a discount to in county residents since they pay taxes that help fund the school. Kind of like in state vs out of state tuition for a university.

GI is paying for mine as well, and my classes University of Maryland are 1000/class. That doesn't include books or "fees." Insane.

Did Obama say, "everything we've worked for in 2008?"

Can anyone tell me what they worked so hard for? I'm not being a dick, I just want a lib to answer.

city college is cheap where I am as well 150 a credit, but the crappy thing is if your going into any special program allot of the state universities are making you take the same class over but at their school. For example, the local city college offers physiology but if your in the athletic training program at our state university they will only credit your GE stuff that is not degree applicable like math and English but all sciences that relate to your degree you will have to take over. My girl went straight to the state, but many students that got there AS then applied for the program had to end up doing 6 years of college to get their BS just to make up for classes they had to retake and then not getting classes.

The shitty thing is my girl had to take 5 years to get her BS because she could not get into 2 of the classes. So the next year she only needed to take two classes but in order to be in her special program she had have so many hours of service as a trainer for the school and had to do it full time. So it was not like she could get a job and work because she was traveling with their foot ball team across the country. So inorder to continue to get loan deferments she had to take extra classes to get into full time status. They milked EVERY cent out of her.

Does race play ANY role in your constant deep-throating of Obama and his policies?

I'm pretty sure you asked a question in regards to what happened in 2008 and then I posted the answer.

do you have any concept of cause and effect at all? unless of course your question was philosophical in nature in that case I misunderstood it.

So Obama isn't responsible for carrying on Bush's screws up, but is responsible for passing a continuation of legislation started back in 1965?

once you finally realize that things are not going to get better you stop expecting things to be fixed. it is why major policy does not change from POTUS to POTUS and it hasn't for almost 100 years.

with the exception of the big 3 just about all of the policy from the progressive era post WWII has been dismantled. a healthy middle class in a capitalist society is a function of policy it is not naturally occurring. and people wonder what's going on. there was no healthy large middleclass in the US in the 1700s, 1800s or 1900's until post WWII.
