you realize that the movie theatre shooting was a pretty far distance away from his home and the drove past many other places that supported guns and alloud guns in theatres, where as the theatre he went to was a gun free zone. One of the only theatres around him that was gun free. Also the school that he shot up has zero motive period and he did not live close to the school either... My first job in high school was retrieving shopping carts at Walmart and believe me I got in great shape pushing 20-50 carts at a time for 6-8 hours. Somedays I'd have to work 12 hours on a school night because management had decided to only have 1 cart pusher scheduled when they needed 2. They cut hours so often that it puts a strain on those that are scheduled. I got promoted to cashier and then sporting goods and went from $7 to $8 whole dollars an hour. Dealing with some of those customers was no walk in the park either especially at checkout when upper management decides to only have half the cashiers they should have and you have a queue of 20 people waiting in your line and are going as fast as you can and every other customer you checkout bitches at you for making them wait in line...a line that seems to never end by the way for the next 4 hours until you go on break and then as you walk to the breakroom you get stopped 10 times by customers wanting you to physically walk them to where they can find the watchamajig on sale or the thing we had 2 years ago when they bought one and can't find anymore because Walmart probably dropped the vendor or it isn't made any longer. Plus you have to put away all the shit people decided they didn't want so by the time you get to the break room you have 5 minutes left on your 15 minute break.

Among Wal-Mart employees, some single workers may be able to make ends meet. Others may be forced to take on two or three jobs. Others may have a spouse with a better job. And others simply cannot make ends meet. Because Wal-Mart fails to pay sufficient wages, U.S. taxpayers are forced to pick up the tab. In this sense, Wal-Mart's profits are not made only on the backs of its employees - but on the backs of every U.S. taxpayer.

And Best Buy, Kohls and Target is much better?

I'm not defending walkmart, but the fact is they drill down their vendors on price so they can sell products for usually less than their competitors. Walmart is all about the bottom line and that includes keeping costs such as wages down.

That said, I recently befriended (new pub buddy) an asst manager at walmart and he clued me in on some management wages. An asst manager no longer requires a degree and can range from 36K-76K and 76K is a hard cap to encourage the employee to move up the ladder. An average sized store manager can make 120K easily and if his store profit hits all four quarters, he can see a bonus as big as his salary.

every person in this country should be able to live on a 40 hour paycheck. if you disagree stop whining about welfare. it doesn't take a degree to dig a ditch or sell underwear but we still need people to do those jobs. if you want to support sub standard pay do not complain about filling the financial gaps for people in those jobs. it's not like walmart can't afford to pay them...
