My Pitt had skin allergies and got ear goop when she ate the wrong food
My baby hated it at first but what worked for me was simple dog food: lamb and rice
diamond makes a good lamb and rice dog food, it's a bit pricey but solved my problem quickly and was a lot lot cheaper then the stuff the vet tried getting me to pay for

yeah, I ran the gamut of food... ear goop never came back after this stuff I found a golden retriever forum of all places
lamb and rice, grain free, free range grain free, turkey based, bison based, salmon, white fish, rabbit (god that shit was wildly expensive)
brands have been - merrick, canine caviar, flint river ranch, call of the wild,tractor supply's brand (diamond I believe), nutro, iams, purina..the last free were desperation..
some free samples of absurdly expensive shit from my local dog boutique (srsly) some shit I'm sure im forgetting.
in the end i think shes allergic to grass
she does well on merricks grain free bison ..and weirdly did really well on iams but iams has sketchy preservatives.
she was treated for fungus, bacteria, interdigital cysts, dips special baths, ointments, soaks, sprays...in the end some blue genetian violet goat spray worked the best on her feet that an old man that raises beagles convinced me to get.
